April 20, 200422 yr Scratchy or static sound appears sometimes on opening the 737; sometimes when views are changed; sometimes not at all; sometimes the scratchy sound disappears. This also happens occasionally with some other addons and never at all with other addons. April 20, 200422 yr Hi Jim,Try updating your sound card drivers. This is a known issue with some Soundblaster cards. I had the same problem - installing the latest drivers solved the problem for me.
April 21, 200422 yr I have been thinking about doing that but up to now I have feared any tinkering with anything in my computer as it has almost always meant a trip to the local computer guys to fix things. I haven't visited them in a while so if I have bad luck with the updating of the drivers, they will be glad to see me (and my wallet contents). Seriously, I'll give it a try. Thanks.Jim O'Brien
April 21, 200422 yr If updating the drivers doesn't help - it's probably that your sound card is sharing an interrupt with another device, like a disk controller. The easiest way (sometimes the only way in XP) to correct this is to physically move the card to a different slot.
April 22, 200422 yr Jim some forum search wouldn't hurt ;-)Check this out.http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...9&mesg_id=38809Kyprianos Biris :-cool[link:avsim.com/greece/hvacc]Hellenic vACChttp://vateud.org/images/vatsim-eurs.gifhttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg Hellenic vACC - Olympic Aegean Virtual Prepar3D 5.3 | CPU i9 10900K | VGA: RTX 3070 | RAM: 32GB DDR4 | Monitor: 3440x1440
April 22, 200422 yr I've always had problems with sound on my lappy, and by changing directx sound to no hadware accelleration did the trick for me.Cheers,
April 22, 200422 yr Interesting suggestion and I will try it. I had searched the forum without success as often one does not have the exact phrase or the keyword is so general that the search would take forever. Thanks and I'll post how it all comes out.Jim O'Brien
