Recommendations on 1900D

Featured Replies

Hello,I hope this is the appropriate place to post this question. I am strongly considering the B1900 as it appears to be a beautiful add-on. I would like to know how much, if any, of a system performance hit it will give me, using it in FS 2002. I have a low end machine (Pent. 3/800mhz, 512 mb ram, Geforce 4 TI 4400). I can run most things in FS 02 pretty well, but certain planes, especially the default King Air, drag the performance down to unacceptable levels. This is due, I believe, to my antiquated sound card and the sound of the King Air, since killing the sound brings the performance back up. The Flight 1 Cessna 421C runs fairly well, but hits the system a bit.Anyway, I was just looking for some recommendations with regards to performance and wound up writing a book here ;)Thanks!KP

Hi Ken,I run the 1900D on my PIII 900, 512 MB RAM with an ATI 9600 Pro and I am using FS9. I have my frame rates set at 15 and it seems that my machine has no problems with maintaining the 15 fps when flying the Beech. Bear in mind that I use 2d clouds and the rest of my eye candy sliders are set low to mid range. I have never flown the default King Air so I can't give you a comparison.Mike

Thanks for the info Mike. Looks like I'm probably gonna make the purchase this weekend. The B 1900 is one of my favorite planes among the freeware aircraft I have, so I'm betting I'll really like this one. Thanks!KP

I'm flying with no problem on an antiquated Dell PIII XT-500 with 640mb ram and a GeForce 2 64mb card.My only problem is prying the next set of liveries outta these guys :) After the inital batch they went into hybernation while finishing off the new 737 birds.Hopefully with the release of the big bird(s), the next group (ten at least I'm told) can now be published ;) -------------------Racartronit means something, but I just can't remember what
