May 3, 200422 yr I have just added the 8/900 package to my system and I too and have the many problems with the spoilers. I have flown twice witht he 800 series and noticed that before I grab the ils on approach that I hear a ding ding ding and then the bird starts to climb. I am 23 miles out and have not even touched the glidescope yet. Any ideas. The other problem is that I went to fly my 700 and the panel looks like the 800 miss the 700 panel and now it is doing the same thing the 800 and 900 does, nothing works well, on approach before capture it begins to climb. Is the 700 panel supposed to look like the 800 now? Why is the jet driffiting up every time I hit the approach button? Is there a way to bring back the old 700 panel for the 700?ThanksHawk Hunter
May 3, 200422 yr I had never any problem with PMDG aircraft....:) ;)Wondering why you do?And I find the art work just amazing.
May 3, 200422 yr Yes it replaces your 700-600 graphics with the updated version, you know that most everyone complained about the cartoonish look of the original one don't you? Regardless the panel looks MUCH better now. As for your approach issue, are you established on LOC yet? Why it would shoot up is beyond me perhaps you can give us every single detail up to this point otherwise we are just playing guess the cause ;-)[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. May 3, 200422 yr Perhaps MOST complained about the other panel, I happened to like it, the new one took a little getting used to.
May 3, 200422 yr Yes, I liked the old panel too, but I like this one much better now that I've looked at it a while. Just don't put coffee stains and crap all over the place!! I hate that old look everyone wants in their add-ons. As far as the other changes go, I assume you mean the look and not the EFIS style gauges. The EFIS is harder to fly since I'm used to the new glass panel, but I love variety. I still don't get how the FAA requires pilots to be rated on a different panel per the gauges. Any idiot can go from the old style to the new one and fly perfectly fine. It's still an NG and hardly much different with the EFIS.On the LOC/GS, I'm assuming the capture is too early. Unless pressing the LOC button doesn't do anything prior to coming alive, I would say you might have engaged it too soon. Try waiting until you're sure the localizer is light up or even a diamond away from center. It will have plenty of time to straighten out.Chris - Chris Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX | Intel Core i9 13900KF | Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 24 GB | 64GB DDR5 SDRAM | Corsair H100i Elite 240mm Liquid Cooling | 1TB & 2TB Samsung Gen 4 SSD | 1000 Watt Gold PSU | Windows 11 Pro | Thrustmaster Boeing Yoke | Thrustmaster TCA Captain X Airbus | Asus ROG 38" 4k IPS Monitor (PG38UQ) Asus Maximus VII Hero motherboard | Intel i7 4790k CPU | MSI GTX 970 4 GB video card | Corsair DDR3 2133 32GB SDRAM | Corsair H50 water cooler | Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD (2) | EVGA 1000 watt PSU - Retired
May 3, 200422 yr I am not complaining just making sure I didn't mess anything up when it installed. I never had any problems with the 600/700 but now I do. Just making sure that the updated panel went to all four jets. I decided to ride out the increase of altitude to see what it would do. This is what I am doing. I let the (pardon my knowledge here) the little line that goes left and right turn from outlined to full shaded yellow and then turned on the ils button. It once again began to rise. It went up far enough to capture the top of the glidscope line. Example clear for runway at 3100 capture the left and right line (sorry can't remember name) and then it climbs up until glidescope is even and then it starts taking me down. Has done this every time. Love the bird or I wouldn't have updated to 800/900 but now my 600/700 having all the spolier ils problems now. Hey, I just turn off the ils button and turn go back to 3100 and then turn it on and all is fine. Go figure. Gotta love it though. And yes the new panel takes getting use to but as real as it gets is what I want. Thanks for everyone input and help.Hawk Hunter
