I CANNOT RUN THE PMDG 737/XXXBECAUSE OF BLUE SCREEN CRASHES

I had a customer bring a machine in that was acting just like it. Someone put the HS on backwards, it was at an angle and contacted one edge of the cpu. The CPU temp was right arrounf 100 deg C. Their was an awfull lot of thearmal grease between the HS and CPU, perhaps thats why the silicon didn't go up in smoke. After remounting the HS/F and applying a thin layer of Artic Silver we fired it up, ran at 36c and crashed no more.Regards

George,Interesting reply;the gr. card comes as a complete unit with fan already attached, the issue simply pushes in, job done! The thing that is scratching me is what Aeolus' engineer said; after examining the system report, he thinks my chipset drivers have not been installed. What are they? Dumbo's like me are not up on geekspeak, so cannot understand those terms, even the instructions are half geek-half Japanese. navigating websites like Aeolus' are a total nightmare trying to find the exact graphic driver for your system etc, you never can be positive you got the right one. They don't even give any instructions on how to remove old drivers and install new ones.

Howard,I think what george was talking about was your Heat Sink And Fan for your CPU. If it is not seated correctly and the thermal grease applied correctly you can and will have problems controling the CPU temp and then as a result you can get auto shut downs and blue screens. Just as a precaution it would probably be a good idea to stop at the local computer store and pick up a tube of arctic silver 5 and a copper shim and clean the existing paste off the die and then apply new grease and re-attach your HSF. Be very very careful when pulling off or reattaching your HSF as if you slip with the screwdriver you can screw up the mobo or cpu. Also I would go to places like overlockers.com tomshardware.com hardforum and even amdmb.com , Ask some questions let them know that you are a newbie to modding and they will help you as long as you are willing. Just a warning if you get the overclcking bugg it gets expensive but it is so much fun.
