May 7, 200422 yr "do you think the intermittent reboots are because of this virus?"Reboots can be caused by lots of things, Clayton, but according to the various anti-virus software sites, this is one of the Sasser virus' less endearing features ;-)http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcen...moval.tool.htmlGood luck!Cheers.Ian.
May 7, 200422 yr >PMDG>>>i have been struck down with the sasser virus.>>I managed to clean my system of it but now my computer reboots>intermittently,>>i will have to do a complete reformat of the c: drive because>of this.>>i don't have a burner on the CD so i am asking if i do a>reformat will i be able to get the links to the 600/700 and>then the 800 to reinstall on my HDD PMDG?>Go to microsoft.com or run Windows Update to download and install the appropriate critical patches. Then, go to www.symantec.com and follow the instructions posted for verified removal of the sasser worm from your system. Symantec has a small executable that will search all files on your system and provides a report of the existence or non-existence of the worm.Without doing both - there is the strong possibility that you became re-infected after removal of the worm.Good luck!-michael
May 7, 200422 yr Author hi Michaeli have done all that what you have stated. It says it is clean an no virus is found.I don't want to spend hours reformatting and installing if this doesnt solve the problem. I7-10700F RTX 3070 32 Gig Ram
