Featured Replies

Do you have all you SIDs/STARs?...I was flying from KDET(Detroit) to KMCO(Orlando)...well when I was loading the FMC....I went to pick a departuring SID and when I did I notice that their was 3 SIDs and when I went to set up my arrival...when I went to pick the STAR I didn't appear to have any...and I think this runway is over the minumum length for which they made the SID/STAR...can someone help..I am using the latest AIRAC files....do I have to do something else like download another part or is this how everyones is...Thank you

Hi ChadThe SID/STAR files that ships with the NG is not by all means intended to be complete. It has pretty good coverage for the US but lacks a lot in the rest of the world. Still some US airports isn't covered. Reason for this is that the procedure files are derived from DAFIF data which basically is meant to be used by the US military, thus only keeping the airports that may be of interest for them.However... The PMDG concept allows you or anybody else to make your own procedure files. Included in the package is a nice tutorial written by one of my beta test pilots, Terry Yingling. It will take you through the process of programming a SID and a STAR and a final IAP as well.Another way is to check wether anyone else already have done this. There are one main repository for user made procedures and it is maintained by Richard Stefan at www.navdata.at.So my tip is, go look at navdata and see if someone have done KMCO already. If not maybe you can do one and add it to the collection!CHeers,

Also if you have FSnavigator installed you can set up a flightplan to include SIDS and Stars and then export it for use with the PMDG FMC.Regards

A clarification>Included in the package is a nice tutorial written by one of my beta >test pilots, Terry Yingling. The above should of course read; Included in the package is a nice tutorial written by one of my beta test pilot collegues, Terry Yingling. ;-)Sorry for any confusion,

>KDET(Detroit) to KMCO(Orlando)...well when I was loading the...>when I went to pick the STAR I didn't appear to have any. This is odd. In the 0404 cycle at KMCO I see STARs BITHO7, GOOFY5, LEESE1 and MINEE3. Something would seem to be amiss if you do not see them. Are you sure cycle 0404 is properly installed? You can verify the cycle by going to the PMDGSIDSTARS folder in your flight sim folder, open up any file and look at the header. The cycle is listed there.RegardsTerry
