May 17, 200422 yr HiIs thats just typical. I have been looking forward to a flight today - and then I have to use my time (as usual) on other things :DI have not seen this problem before now. I am in the B738 cockpit and suddenly every BMP gets black. Only the LCD screens looks like they should. Then 5 seconds later - my computer reboots. This has now been happening 4 times for me.I will then try to reinstall the 737-800, and then I get this. Why? Is the installer faulty now? Where do I download it again if?BrSteen
May 17, 200422 yr Commercial Member Sounds to me like Display Driver issues. Have you recently upgraded drivers?VinPMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/devteam.jpg Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com
May 17, 200422 yr Hi and thanks for your quick reply. No I have no updated my drivers - I still use 53.03 with my gForce FX5900.The only thing I have done since last time I ran FS9 is installing the WDM drivers to record some old VHS tapes to my harddrive. I am not sure if they can cause this. They should only be for capturing. But now I can not check because I messed up my installation with the problem you can see on the attachement on my other message. Is it possible to get the link to the 737-800 again somehow?BrSteen
May 17, 200422 yr Installers do not just *go bad*. You certainly have been doing some things on your computer and seems like some folks are quick to blame the NG. Sound drivers can cause major issues in FS not just graphic drivers. So are you saying that you have tried all the other aircraft (default) and still no issues only with the NG?[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. May 17, 200422 yr Commercial Member Hi Steen,Good luck with diagnosing the problems you are having with your PC and its display adapter. If in the end you decide you still want a new install program for any PMDG product, go to www.precisionmanuals.com. Click on the "Support" tab, then click on the "Lost Product" button and follow the instructions written there.Best,VinPMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/devteam.jpg Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com
May 17, 200422 yr I am not blaming anyone. I just trying to get some help, and was hoping that the people who created the panel would have an idea what it means when this occurs.
May 19, 200422 yr Hello Steen,Do you have WinXP?If you do, maybe try using System Restore to return your computer to the state it was in before you installed the WDM drivers...before reinstalling the 800/900 software.....if you have rather recent restore points saved. It was fine before the WDM drivers, yes?I Have had to do this many times before with success after problematic driver/software installs, when the normal uninstall didn't work.Good luck...hope everything gets straightened out.Ryan Beard,KJAN, SBGL, SBRJWinXP Pro SP1P4 2.8Ghz HT 800Mhz PrescottIntel 865PERLGForce4 TI4200 w/8x AGP120GB Buslink SATA, 60GB Maxtor, 40GB Maxtor(big os page file:-)
May 20, 200422 yr It can be from a range of things like Windows to your hardware. Usually a reboot is a Windows error, but can be from things like processors, graphics cards, etc. overheating. I would suggest (if you can) monitor your CPU temperatures and case temperatures.Nick B.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpg--AMD Athlon XP 3200+ @ 2.2 Ghz400W Power supply3x 80 mm Case FansSoyo VIA KT600 Dragon PlusnVidia GeForce FX 5200 128 mb2 x 512 PC400100 GB Western DigitalMicrosoft Sidewinder Precision 2
May 20, 200422 yr Commercial Member Steen-a far-reaching suggestion, but I've seen others with the problem not even think about it either:Could it be that you're infected with the Sasser virus? Make sure you have updated Norton (or the equivalent antivirus program) and go have WinXP receive all the proper updates.Best, Lefteris Kalamaras - Founder www.flightsimlabs.com
