first of all thanks for all your help this is for randy.randy iwent into device manager this is what it said primary ide device 1 dma available,transfer mode ultra dma mode5.secondary ide.device1 dma if available,current transfer-pio,mode is this secondary ide mean my second hardrive if this is the case it is 80gb hardrive with only fs2004 on it .secondary ide dosen't give me a option of changing to dma mode or do i have to go in to bios to change

How in the world are you running without fs9 pegging the cpu at 100%???? I've never seent this on my machine, and I consider my machine rather tweaked ;-)

Well Ken,When you've tweaked FS and XP to run at a bare 85.7MB of memory I think you will get your CPU to run at only 2% as well! ;-)Cheers,
