Sorry to hear about your problems,First thing is to see to that your OS is updated with the latest patches and that your graphics drivers are up to date. Also check your firmware, BIOS and video, audio firmware comes to mind. ALso check for the latest Intel chipset drivers. When that is done you can start tweaking FS and your NG.Your computer needs to be up to date from the bottom up if you would like state-of-the-art add-ons to run as fast as possible.Regards,

Mine is a Barton 2500 with 1 meg of ram and a 9600xt (128). It runs just fine on my system. You must be running something in the background or have your setting too high (I run mine pretty high) and it is smooth most of the time. Thats including often running a newsreader, internet explorer and Outlook while flying. You can put it in the hanger but I would first delete your FS9 config file and it will rebuild with its own idea of optimal for your system. You would then slowly tweak (starting with screen resolution) till it gets where you want it and does not stutter.Let us know what we can do to help.

Three suggestions.(1) Delete the fs9.cfg file and then restart FS2004 to build a new one. Start to change your FS2004 settings with a new fs9.cfg file.(2) Try running your computer in "clean boot" mode. But, you did not say what operating system you were using. If you are using Windows XP, ME or 98, refer to Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 331796. This method runs your computer with only the essentials.(3) Alternatively to (2), try using Ken Salter's latest release of FSAutoStart, available in the AvSim library. Basic instructions are included.Good luck, and don't give it up yet!

Start it up with clear weather or decrease your detailed cloud 3D percent. I always got stuttering when I had detailed clouds at 80%, but it went away when I lowered it to 40%.Nick B.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpg--AMD Athlon XP 3200+ @ 2.2 Ghz400W Power supply3x 80 mm Case FansSoyo VIA KT600 Dragon PlusnVidia GeForce FX 5200 128 mb2 x 512 PC400100 GB Western DigitalMicrosoft Sidewinder Precision 2

Also if you have compressed any folders for fs9, uncompress them. That solved my stuttering completly and we both have almost the same machine.

This is certainly is not a PMDG (Granted it is harder on FPS than most add-ons) issue alone. To prove this I have redid my systems with a dual boot, windows xp pro and windows xp 64 (beta). I have all non needed systems for windows set to disabled. When I start windows I am only using 84 megs which makes a BIG difference in free ram for fs operation. Take a look at these shots I too last night. 1280x1024 32 bit4X AFNO AAAll silders MAX except visual distance limited to 80 milesCloud draw to 40 miles. Used Chris Willis's could replacement + enviorment sky textuers. Make sure your windows xp system is using your harddrive as DMA. Sometimes it will be in PIO mode slowing down you perfomance to a crawl. I can defrag my 30 gig partrition is less than 2 minutes. If you use virtual memory try to set the VM file on another harddrive or partition. Of course there are many things one can do for better performance but it can be very frustrating. BUT the number one problem is your WINDOWS and NOT your FS settings! http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/76661.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/76662.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/76663.jpg[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. I remember something about an XP patch which caused a terrible performance loss. but I don't remember the code and the situation in which it happened, maybe somebody has an idea. Luca

looks like nice fps u have there.... Randy, how to find out if Windows using DMA instead of PIO like u said above? I'm just not good in computers.....Windows XP Home Edition 512MB RAM GeForce FX5600Dany Setyadihttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg

I also use this tweak http://www.tweakxp.com/tweak1509.aspx To check your DMA settings see herehttp://www.tweakxp.com/tweak178.aspx AND if one puts the virtual memory on another physical drive OR partition it will also help speed up if windows gets into VM. The first tweak will keep most memory use in RAM which works great with 512 or more megs of on board ram..[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. >AND if one puts the virtual memory on another physical drive>OR partition it will also help speed up if windows gets into>VM <<< Randy, I still don't get how to do this..... Would you>help me? Hope it's not too much for you :)>>Dany Setyadi>http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg You can only do this IF you have your hard drive partitioned or have another physical drive that windows sees (like for storage).1] Go to START/CONTROL PANEL/SYSTEM/ADVANCED/ under PERFORMANCE click SETTINGS/ADVANCED/under VIRTUAL MEMORY select CHANGE/Highlight C and choose NO PAGING FILE2] Then hightlight what drive you wish to have the VM on and set the PAGEFILE. I have 512 megs of ram but my pagefile is set to 1500-1500. 800 might be good enough according to MS for my amount, certainly a little more can not hurt. The important thing here is that both amounts MATCH. 3] Then go to:START/RUN type REGEDIT then go to (by clicking the little + toHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE +SYSTEM+CURRENTCONTROLSET+CONTROL+SESSION MANAGER+MEMORY MANAGEMENT4] Once you click on MEMORY MANAGEMENT look in the right window area and locate PAGINGFILES doubleclick on that and make sure it POINTS to your partition like this E:pagefile.sys 1500 1500 where E is my partition for VM. So this way C's VM is located on another drive. Keep the page file drive DEFRAGGED along with your main drive. I can defrag windows in lesss than 2 minutes because eachtime I install or remove something I defrag! Call me crazy but it works as the screenshots tell. And while you have the REG open and in the same WINDOW as the PAGEFILE apply this tweak too! At least 512MB of ram recommendedHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlSession ManagerMemory Management1.DisablePagingExecutive -double click it and in the decimal put a 1 - this allows XP to keep data in memory now instead of paging sections of ram to harddrive yeilds faster performance.2.LargeSystemCache- double click it and change the decimal to 1 -this allows XP Kernel to Run in memory improves system performance alotReboot and watch your system fly ..happy tweakinNote: This tweak may cause problems with ATI cards *this is documented by ATI [h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Randy, those are great recommendations.... unfortunately I only have 1 hard drive :(:( I'm thinking of partitioning my hard drive..... then i can try these recommendations of yours.... I already tried the other tweaks on Windows and try the starstorm forceware from guru3d and my fps increase to 10-20 fps on 737-600/700 on clouds and everything on max settings.... i guess if I try the VM suggestions, my fps would increase further :) anyway, thanks for explaining to me, Randy :)Dany Setyadihttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg

"Note: This tweak may cause problems with ATI cards *this is documented by ATI"Has anyone tried this hack with an ATI Card?Seems to be running OK on my system with an ATI Radeon 9800 XT.Just wondering what the problem is supposed to be so I can keep a watch for it.
