June 23, 200421 yr Hi,Sometimes when I fly FS will randomly minimize, after sleuthing around I relized that when it does, IEXPLORE pops up in the proccesses menu in the task manager, no browser appears just the proccess. With the add on of the 800/900 version it has gotten better but still does it sometimes. Has anyone seen this before?ThanxsAndras
June 23, 200421 yr Commercial Member Sounds like possible spyware/adware to me. Nothing in FS should be launching your web browser, which IEXPLORE is... Download, update, and run both AdAware 6 and SpyBot Search and Destroy 1.3 and see if they find anything... June 27, 200421 yr Hi Andras,One nice thing about Ken Salter's FSAutoStart program which you can get here at AVSIM, is that it kills processes that you don't need an does not allow others to start while fS is running. I think this one of the most usefull little utilities for FSCheersBob
June 29, 200421 yr Hello, Thanxs for responding and will look into that program! It messes up some of my other games so I might go yell at MS tech support :-)Andras
June 29, 200421 yr "dxdial.exe" I beleive is the culprit. I to have it and it is causing major grief. I might even resort to a re-format C. But i must try those aplications
June 30, 200421 yr I downloaded "Spybot" and have fixed my pc using it and then rolling back to last weeks restore point, which makes me very happy. There were several posts on Avsim and in Lavasoft. I have reset my firewall to medium protection and security in windows explorer to default. My server has just announced it will screen all emails for virus andthey will soon implement anti-spam software. So that should improve security a bit. That dxdial was crucifying my whole system, but spybot shredded it along with 5 other similar files.I just did a trans-USA flight and it went very smooth, without stutters, so,hopefully, the job is sorted. Thanks again to everyone.
July 2, 200421 yr FYI, I thought I read somewhere that Spybot may have been comprimised. You may want to an Internet search. Another one to try is Spysweeper by Webroot (www.webroot.com). It's free for the first update. George Morris
