June 27, 200421 yr HelloPMDG 737-600/700Speed Brake Lever set to ARMED position on final:(please scrutinize in Spot Plane View)1) You see speed brakes partly deployed PRIOR touch down!Is this a bug?2) After touch down and reverse power applied, ground spoilers and speed brakes DO NOT EXTEND automatically as stated in the manual. Is this a bug? Any comments?Regards, G
June 27, 200421 yr Commercial Member Gunter,Try arming the Speedbrakes by pressing "Shift + /" and see if it operates normally. Sounds as if you are arming them with the handle. The Speed Brake Armed light will illuminate whenever the spoilers are out of the Down detent and can incorrectly lead you to beleive they are armed when they are actually deployed. June 28, 200421 yr Hallo Paul>Sounds as if you are arming them with the handleYou are correct, I selet ARMED with the handle. To set ARMED per "Shift /" does not move the handle. Instead O Panel is opened. After touchdown, ARMED does NOT automatically deploy ground spoilers and speed brakes.WHY ? That contradicts the Manual.G
June 28, 200421 yr As far as I know, there were huge debates here about spoiler operation. The main points gathered were:1. The PMDG737 spoilers DO NOT arm with the Shift / key combination. That was actually a source of disappointment for the cockpit builders, etc. You have to use the mouse to arm the spoilers.2. The spoilers do not deploy if your throttles are not absolutely at IDLE at touchdown. Another lengthy debate, but basically it could happen if your throttles aren't calibrated properly, so that when at the IDLE position, N1 still has some reading above 22 or so. The solutions offered were to either recalibrate your joysticks using FSUIPC, or hit the F1 key before touchdown.Do a search of the forums for these topics. I don't know if the above information has changed, but you should be able to determine that when you do a search.
June 28, 200421 yr Guys,Take a look on the Support Page of Precision Manuals, specifically:Product support> OIC 737-800/900 OIC> 737-800/900 Maintenance Status Board. There
June 28, 200421 yr Commercial Member >1. The PMDG737 spoilers DO NOT arm with the Shift / key>combination. But yes they do if one does not have the -800/-900 Add-On but only the first version which this thread is all about.Markus Markus Burkhard
June 28, 200421 yr Hello GentlemenThanks. Problem solved. No bug.Solution 737-600/700, German keybord:Inflight->"Shift+#" moves SB lever into ARMED position -> green SPEED BRAKE ARMED indicator lights up-> speedbrakes remain downafter touch down -> throttles idle-> reverse thrust -> air & ground spoilers deploy fully automaticallyRegards G
June 29, 200421 yr Run a replay of final approach and landing. I find it doesn't matter whether the speed brake is armed or not armed, the spoilers deploy after touch down if the throttle is set at idle.Rich
June 29, 200421 yr Commercial Member Rich,For some reason, other users report that in the replay mode, you won't see the spoilers. Problem within FS as I understand. Change to Spot view after you rollout and then see if the spoilers are deployed.RegardsPaul Gollnick :-cool Technical Operations/Customer Operational SupportPrecision Manuals Development Groupwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/devteam.jpg Paul Gollnick Manager Customer/Technical Support Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com
June 29, 200421 yr I did an autoland and watched in spot view. The spoilers didn't deploy. I did an autoland and landed in cockpit view. On roll out went to spot view and spoilers were deployed. I always land in cockpit view or vc view, so it works for me. But there must be something about spot view.
