July 8, 200421 yr Hi !I've noticed that the 747-400 altitude callouts have changed. The newer have a different voice. Will you intregrade the new ones?take a look at this video, and listen to the callouts.mms://ds9.dhsnow.com/AirsideTV2/sfo747400cpland.wmvThanksMarcello
July 8, 200421 yr Callouts are unique to each airline as with many other items like this newer voice recording, it's all about how much an airline wants to spend $$$. But knowing PMDG there should be a great option lists ;-)... Best Wishes,
Randy J. Smith

P M D G's 747-400

coming to a runway near you
Caution! July 8, 200421 yr Thanks for sharing the video Marcello it was awesome. In my personal opinion PMDG will do an excellent job with the 747-400. I happen to like the new callouts that are in the 744. ;-)Nick :-abduct
July 9, 200421 yr Commercial Member Marcello-With PMDG, all things are possible! ;-)(And we won't charge extra for them....hehehehehe) Robert S. Randazzo PLEASE NOTE THAT PMDG HAS DEPARTED AVSIM You can find us at: http://forum.pmdg.com
July 9, 200421 yr My internet connection is a little slow, so I can't look at the video, Marcello, but I suspect the callouts to be from an "Enhanced GPWS" system which has extra Terrain warnings and complex ND displays.Including these callouts would mean that PMDG would have to implement lots of ND display changes. The logic behind the real displays and warnings is extremely complex (a major task for any PMDG programmer to make it appear/react realistically). The EGPWS displays would also take a heavy toll on your graphics card/processor (sometimes even the real 744 has difficulty displaying the EGPWS... the last thing you want when you're heading towards a mountain is to see an "EXCESS DATA" caution message appear on your ND screen). If I were a betting man, I'd say you wouldn't see it in the first incarnation of the 744. Nor would I want the PMDG team to divert their attentions away from programming the more important basic operation of the 744.Cheers.Ian R>
