737NG - Engine Problems with Virtual Cockpit model

Featured Replies

Hi folks, when using the virtual cockpit model with the 737NG (both 600/700 and 800/900 series), I lose control over the engines after about 2-3 minutes. At this time, the throttles move to about 50 % N1 and stay there, without a chance to move them in any way (by throttle levers, engaging AT and TOGA, not even dragging them by mouse or using the F1-F4 commands). This problem stays until I load a totally different plane (loading another NG, even with 2D panel only, does not solve it).Setup:FS 9, PMDG 600 - 900 with updates and service packs installed, Precision Flight Control Throttles, all drivers and FSUIPC up to date. This problem seems to only occour with the VC model. As I normally use the 2d model only (for performance reasons), I did not notice that until now.Question:Is this a known issue, or am I the only one who has this kind of problem? Is there any workaround known? I had a look at this forum, but could not find anything up to now.

Hi Stefan,Question:Is this a known issue, or am I the only one who has this kind of problem? Is there any workaround known? I had a look at this forum, but could not find anything up to now.Answer: This is not a known issue, nor have we seen it presented to our support staff. This is a peculiar problem. My first suggestion would be to make sure your throttles are properly calibrated. Verify the appropriate joystick axis assignments in MSFS. Also, if you are using a USB hub.. including a hub on a monitor, try plugging your throttles directly into the primary USB port and see if the problem persists.Best,Vin ScimonePMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/devteam.jpg

Stefan-Can you give me a bit more information?1) Are you operating the thottles manually? Or on Autothrottle?2) On the center EICAS- what is the displayed THRUST MODE?3) What autopilot modes do you have active when this happens?4) Have you made any modifications to your setup to customize it? (Sometimes certain customizations creat unintended problems....)We haven't seen any reports of this to our tech support address- so you have either discovered something new and unique- or we have something odd going on with they way the throttles are being commanded that leads to this behavior...

Hi,sorry for the late answer, but I hardly got to the pc during the last days. Did not even have to think about flying, actually. Anyway...1)These losses of throttle control appear in the time the plane is set up for departure (basically during the preparation of the FMC). At this time, there is no Autothrottle available yet.2)Thrust mode is TO at this time.3) No AP mode selected yet, since the plane is still on the ground. But at least one time, i had this kind of problem during approach, after a normal flight with AP and AT engaged (VNAV, SPD). 4.This my computer setup:Intel P 1,6, Precision Flight Controls Throttle Stack, several GoFlight units, Flight Simulator in Window Mode with FMC dragged to a second screen, FMC buttons controlled via Key2mouse.I
