Hi I just got the PMDG 737-600/700.. GREAT stuff! But I just have a small question about navigating with the (very realistic)FMC system. I think I got most of the procedrues right, but when I choose to deviate from my filed course (to make a shortcut over e few waypoints) the ATController goes nuts, and tells me to turn to my original course.. Since I

Just a wild guess here, if you need to deviate 'Of Course', then you have to request this. I use Radar Contact (RC3), an it is possible to asked to deviate for weather etc., without getting slammed on. If you are using Microsoft default, I am not sure if this is possible. Hope this helps.

Johan, ATC in real life tends to get jumpy to say the least if you deviate from your flight plan and just go your own way:) Imagine a car in the high speed lane suddenly veering across four lanes of traffic and exiting off an expressway and I think that gives you an idea what would happen. The only way around it with the default ATC is to make up a new flight plan then reload it, get a clearance and go your merry way. Real life you just request it, grovel a bit to the controllers and if your lucky and if he or she at the scope had a good night last night they will grant your request. Bob K.
