August 21, 200421 yr Hi,Yesterday I had my birthday and I got the 737-600/700 & 737-800/900 from my parents. I am really happy with it!I have installed the 600/700 first and afterwards the update to v1.3.Then rebooted my computer and tested it. That one worked!Ofcourse I also wanted to install the 800/900 version and I started the setup. I got a screen that showed a .tmp file being opened or something and I took a while to load. Then suddenly it came with the message that I didn't have the 600/700 version installed and the installer quit. What had happend? My entire FS9 folder (over 15GB!!!) was gone! Also my entire Windows XP SP2 installation was screwed, my entire user profile was gone! I tried reinstalling FS9 but because of all the gaps in Windows XP I had no other option then to reinstall my entire computer. :-(After reinstallation I tried it again, hoping that it was some sort of glitch, but the same problem happend all over again! What can this be? Is the PMDG 737 series XP SP2 compatible???Or is it an other issue? Please help me out!
August 21, 200421 yr Commercial Member Nameless-(Please sign your name to all posts in the PMDG forum...thank you!)Sounds like a rather odd chain of events.....Do have your ORDERID for the 8900 so i can take a look at your source file? This isn't something we've seen/heard of before- and knowing how the installer works it does not sound like something that was installer based.I'd recommend running the 6/700 installation and the 8/900 installation again.Just be certain that you aren't running any other programs at the same time. More than likely it was the result of some wierd combination of factors related to things running in memory at the time?Keep us posted! Robert S. August 21, 200421 yr I'm unable to obtain my orderid at this time, because my parents ordered it from their computer and they left this morning on holiday for two weeks. But the file is called pmdg_737_800_900.exe and is 44.9MB large (47.114.881 bytes).I'm not very egor to try and run the exe file again since it cost me about half a day to get my system back up & running again. But in the last test I installed the following on my computer before running the PMDG installers:Windows XP with SP2 intergratedIntel INF updateDivxXvidAC3 codecMicrosoft Office 2003 with SP1Winzip 9Winrar 3.40Creative labs SBLive 5.1 Digital drivers3Com 1000Mbit NICCisco VPN clientJava clientLogitech mousware MX510Logitech Wingman Exterme Digital.NET 1.1Symantec Anti virus Corp 9.0 clientWinampMSN 6.2 & MSG PlusDameware 4.4FlashplayerShockwaveLatest released Detonator Drivers. For FS2004:Edit VoicepackAI Traffic Pack 3.9PMDG 737-600/700and then it went wrong. These are the system specs:ASUS P4C800 DeluxeIntel Pentium 4 3.0Ghz Exterme Edition 1MB Cache, 800Mhz FSB.1 GB Corsair LL PC3200 TwinX matched pair1x 36GB Western Digital SATA 10.000rpm Raptor (OS + Data)1x 80GB Western Digital IDE 7200rpm (Games + Media)Creative SBlive 5.1 Digital (Connected to 5.1 Digital Surround)Logitech Wingman Exterme DigitalLogitech MX510 mouseMicrosoft Natural Keyboard56k6 Etech modem40x Aopen CD-ROM16x Aopen DVD-ROM12x Plextor CD-RWLeadtek Geforce4 ti4400 128MB (connected to TV)Leadtek Winfast 2000 TV TunerSince it was a clean installation the error occurred on it's unlikely there where any weird programs running in the memory.I'm also behind a firewall (hardware) and in a Win2003 Active Directory Domain, but the user used for installation is member of the AD Domain Admins. Is there any way to manual extract the EXE file and install the 737?I tried to open it with Winzip/WinRAR but they didn't accept the file as an archive.Regards,Raven.

September 1, 200421 yr I am having the same problem.I removed the program, trying to fix my ND alignment problem. Now that I have the 600/700 back, I am getting the exact same "you don't have the 600/700 installed" and the program exits. This is when i don't have anything else running. Again, It worked when i bought it, but now that I'm reloading, it won't work. Dan Moses
