August 29, 200421 yr Does anyone know if there is something i can download where i can find out the active runway at my destination airport or what about a webstie that has the atis info typed so i dont have to plan the approach so close to the airport by waiting until im close to listen to atis. Also does anyone know of any really cool random freeware addons? thanks in advance Tyler
August 29, 200421 yr Hi Tyler, last time I'm also thinking like that, try to look any freeware add on with this features, and finally i just bought payware Radar Contact V3.1 and now i can plan depature from any runway that i like and before departure i'm also plan which runway i want to approach and land..
August 29, 200421 yr Well, you can look up the METAR I think even on the VATSIM page. Not sure about that. I'm sure though that freeware programs like FSMetar will give you the real VATSIM weather (which is real world weather) and then you can look up somewhere the winds. Active runway is always the upwind one (where the wind blows towards you when landing).I'm doing this with British Airways Virtual ACARS program. It has built in metar/info query.
August 29, 200421 yr You can use the ACARS functions of the Squawkbox FMC to retrieve origin or destination METARs.Luca Luca Benelli PMDG & WX Radar? read here
