August 31, 200421 yr Hello,When making a touch and go, do 737 aircrews calculate (using charts) Vr and V2 as they would during a normal takeoff from standstill? Would the proper procedure be to set flaps 15 as in a normal go-around procedure, then rotate again at flaps 15 calculated Vr?Thank you.
August 31, 200421 yr Hi Good question...I have noticed that when doing touch and gos, it takes a long time for the flaps the retract on the runway, ,resulting in a flaps 15 Vr anyway. Ross Ross Marsh Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.2GHz 4GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce GTX580 Windows Vista Home Premium 64x
August 31, 200421 yr Hi,No need to calculate new speeds during a touch and go landing. This is a proper proceedure but Airlines may vary slightly:-Fly a normal approach a landing-AUTOBRAKES off-Don't ARM the SPEEDBRAKES-After touchdown, select FLAPS 15 (minimize a tailstrike)-Run STABILIZER TRIM to mid range-Ensure SPEEDBRAKES are DOWN-Set THRUST LEVERS to VERTICAL ( to stabilize engines)-Set GO-AROUND THRUST-AT VREF, ROTATE to 15 degree pitch, climb a VREF + 15 to 25 knots-VREF 30 equals at least V2 for FLAPS 15Floyd John Floyd
August 31, 200421 yr Hi Floyd,Thanks so much for the information - I will save this and print it out for reference!
