Virtual Cockpit drops to 1 FPS

Featured Replies

Hi all,Just bought the 737 (both packs) last night. I'm struggling though. The plane runs fien, until I enter the VC, then my frames drop immediately to between 1 and 1.5 FPS. There is no variation in the counter, it justs locks at one value. The sim will then only run at that speed in any view. The only way out of it is to open a supplementary 2D panel. Eg, quickly open the Shift-4 view and close it, and the sim runs at a fine pace.I have never seen any other aircraft do this in FS.I am running an Athlon 3000, GeForce 5900 and 1Gb RAM, with Windows XP Pro.Has anyone else seen (and cured!) this problem?Cheers,Gareth Evans

Hello Gareth,With performance that poor with a medium/high end rig like yours, this sounds to me like a hardware/hardware driver issue. I would suggest updating your motherboard, display, and/or audio drivers.Best,Vin ScimonePMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/devteam.jpg

I had a very similar problem which I cured with the most curent Nvidia driver and I also upgraded to dirX 9.0C at that same time. Or it could be a setting somewhere. Play around with your video card settings AA and AF do some searches to see what others in the forum are running.

Hi again,Thanks for the suggestions. I already did the driver thing.Last night I made a flight without the slow down in VC. When troubleshooting, I usually only change one thing at a time (for obvious reasons) but last night, after updating to DirectX9.0c, half through programming the I noticed I was using a waypoint an enormous way out of my route. So two things were changed DirectX, and the 'faulty' waypoint. I think it's more likely that the DirectX thing did it.Thanks again for your help,Gareth Evans

me too have major performance troubles. I gave up on the PMDG until I got a new computer but now I still have a trouble with the computer in my sig.I have an A64 running at 2,6 gig at the moment and an 6800 ULTRA 61.77 at 430/1200. Now 2D I get decent performance but the vc on the 600/700 is killing me. Default KSEA flight at day I get about 11 looking forward. Looking to the sides it jumps to 26.Now I don

<<>Probably. Try backing off on the Autogen slider... it does wonders.<>I get 20 - 30 FPS on the ground, and over 60 at altitude in the VC by lowering autogen and decreasing water quality. This is a demanding addon. Experiment with what works for you, and your hardware.Best,Vin ScimonePMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/devteam.jpg
