September 1, 200421 yr Hi PMDG!Have you thought about what will happen in the future in case of incompatibilities between the present aircraft packages and future MSFS releases? Will there be updates, a completely new package, an add-on? :-hmmm I know it's still a long way but chatting around I heard more than one person express doubts about commercials addons because of this.. :) Thank you. September 1, 200421 yr Well even if there are any changes needed to be made it'll probably only come once MS releases some SDK's but I doub't the change will be so big as to see a whole new product being made. The model will deinately not be outdated by any means, and unless a really new way to model comes into play by whatever FS is after FS2006 it will still be compatible. The only changes any one might have problems with is the functionality. (FDE's, guages etc.)
September 1, 200421 yr Commercial Member Luca,That all depends on what direction Microsoft decides to take the next version of flight simulator, and how backwards compatible airplanes for FS2004 will be. There is no way to tell right now, so when we get there... we'll let you all know.Best,Vin ScimonePMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/devteam.jpg Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com

September 2, 200421 yr Hopefully at least some of the developers have been reading the Make Model SDK's and are no longer using multiple Lod models. Some people are still making aircraft with multiple LOD's in them. Imagine the user that tries to import some of the older FS9 or even FS8 aircraft into FSX to find that the aircraft aren't showing up or get errors (who knows what will happen).
