September 3, 200421 yr Commercial Member Waldo, there are none, simply because even Boeing does not know how the 7E7 flight deck will look like, not to mention the avionics in it...And we won't see a 7E7 from PMDG at least until the airplane is well into passenger service, which is due for 2008+, so don't hold your breath...Markus Markus Burkhard
September 4, 200421 yr Oh dear this is looking dangerously like another "what comes after the 744..." thread. But I generally get the feeling that PMDG aren't likely to release an Airbus aircraft because it seems Airbus aren't as cooperative as Boeing (or so I read somewhere on this forum), shame really since I do like Airbuses and I think PDMG would do them justice where others have failed. :(This may be a little controversial and correct me if I'm wrong but I get the impression that in the US not many people seem to care much for Airbus aircraft (I know some airlines have bought some but the majority don't). I've read a lot of negative comments (mostly calling them boring flying computers etc..). Similarly negative comments came about when someone dared to mention that Concorde could rival 747 as Queen of the skies. Now I'd hate to think that you guys have anything against aero engineers this side of the pond (being one myself). But, historically speaking, there has been some rivalry over the years, especially when Concorde first took to the skies.Better stop there, before I get carried away, but I'd be interested to hear other people's thoughts on the matter.AhmedP.S. I'm not having a sly go at PMDG for not making an Airbus aircraft, I'm speaking in very general terms here. What PMDG choose to make is their choice (and I'll probably buy it :-smooch!!!)
September 4, 200421 yr I think much of the Airbus mistrust comes from the design which I am told gives the final command authority in what the aircraft does, to the Flight Computers. If the pilot wants to increase angle of attack and the computer doesn't, the pilot loses. With the Boeing system , the Pilot can override the Flight Computer. I know a couple of A & Ps that have worked on both brands and they think the Boeings are built better than the Airbuses. The topper for me was the Crash that happened when the Tail Fell off in New York City a few years ago. The pilot was supposed to have misused the rudder which caused the Tail-Rudder assembly to "fall off". I had an English Car once and pieces used to fall off that too. :)
September 4, 200421 yr Hey Bob,> I had an English Car once and pieces used to fall off that too. :)You probably misused the steering wheel :(Just a little note on the "rudder falling off" incident. I am reliably informed that the pilot's usage of the rudder in that incident was in direct violation of the instructions issued with the aircraft in the manual but this wasn't included in the pilot's training by the airline, but I think this is another example of both sides refusing to back down.I do concede your first point, final command authority should be with the pilots definitely. Then again it begs the question, would 9/11 have been avoided if the computers didn't allow planes to be flown like that? Who knows? Thanks anyway, your comments are appreciated.Ahmed
September 4, 200421 yr Author Seems to me that a rudder should never fall off! What I had seen on a documentary was the fact that it happened once before and Airbus changed the rudder construction and never said anything. They new there was a problem! As far as that crash goes the pilot was not in error.I do have the A320 Pro and enjoy flying the bugger. As of now not much to look forward to since the specs for the A380 and B7E7 are not available yet. Maybe I will go back to Falcon4.I had a red 64 Triumph I really miss. Never had to fix it either. But some of my buddies had Tri's with mucho problems. Lucas ignition really sucked. I never did get a Triumph motorcyle either. Bummer!Oh yeah, my 59 Alfa Romeo 2 litre Milano was a real joy! Chick magnet! lol
September 4, 200421 yr I had a Triumph motorcycle years ago. The muffler fell off. The carburator fell off. Ride tighten, ride tighten. Dont get me worng, loved the machine. Then I bought a Harley. My wrenches got rusty.Best

September 4, 200421 yr Also guys, If i remember correctly after the incident happened there was information about how rudder reversals were not allowed anymore in pretty much all aircraft manufactures manuals or whatever they produce...according to the TV anyway! Therefore it could of happened in any aircraft, since the other manufactures now produce warnings to stop people doing that...so they must be worried.People have a lot of biased views on airbus, and I never understand why...
