METAR MESSAGES IN FMC

Featured Replies

Would it be possible to integrate a kind of an ACARS function within the new PMDG 747 FMC ? Or even in the existing 737 FMC ? While enroute I would love to be able to get the latest METARS of my arrival airport like in the real cockpits.Thank you !

... you mean like in the real cockpits that are ACARS equiped.I would venture to say that 50% of the scheduled airliners flying do not have this expensive option.I could be very wrong though.

Speaking from OZ---All the QF NG's (and all of the -400's) and all of the DJ (Virgin Blue) NG's have ACARS. Will check with some old friends who I flew with at AN years ago and now fly NG's overseas. Hope this helps - Chard

FSAcars has a gauge that does that, also allows you to comunicate with other pilots or a ground station using message type 16.Jos

Thank you, just checked Active Sky and think I am going to buy it. Also, in another thread, I found some screenshots of the upcoming 747 showing ACARS in the FMS. Hope it won't be thrown out...Ron
