Looking for AI recommendations

I see there are two programs (at least that I know of) that provide AI Traffic: Traffic Unlimited and My Traffic - both compatible for FS2004. I've read Andrew Herd's review on UT, but I can't find anything on My Traffic. Can anyone offer an opionion on what might marry best with PMDG 737 products, and the anticipated 747? Thanks,Ron - CYEG :-zhelp

Ron,This review by Andrew Herd appears to cover both: http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/kds/main/revi...traf/mytraf.htmI have UT myself and it seems to work just fine with the PMDG. The main thing is not to get carried away with the traffic slider or you will end up with great traffic and busy airports all running at a couple of FPS.I actually bought UT after thinking about using the Project AI manual approach. I basically couldn't be bothered working out how to use and update the PAI files so paid for the automation (Lazy but I've got better things to do with my time). UT fully resolved that issue for me as the install is very easy after you have done the initial massive download. UT also comes with a departure / arrivals board (Talking if you want it to) which is nice, and for those unfortunates without the PMDG 800/900 a basic TCAS.As far as My Traffic goes I have no experience of it.As a final point, having deleted the standard traffic BGL to make sure I didn't get any Soar Airways etc I must say it is great to go to any international airport and sit and watch the correct carriers trundling around. Also if you use EditVoicepack ATC will only use real world call signs, so British Airways becomes Speedbird etc. Pretty cool eh.

Ron - Again, don't know squat about My Traffic but can't speak highly enough of Ultimate Traffic. UT basically uses the same models as Project AI but it takes out ALL the 'hassle' and provides you with a Planet full of AI planes instantly. But that's not why I reccommend it.......UT comes with a slew of extras, such as Adobe Time Table print outs (for all the airlines). A live arrivals / departure board for any airport, an online updater, the ability to import your own shedules and my personal favorite - a utility to assign ANY aircraft to a current UT AI model. So, for example, if you don't like the look of UT's British Airways 747 model, you can assign a new one to take its place. I'm currently in the process of assigning AI Aardvark models in place of many UT models as AI Aaardvark look better and use up even less polys (easier on the frames). There are some amazing photo real AI repaints in the library, such as Ed Cox's AA MD-80, easily assigned to the rather basic UT MD-80!Go for it, you won't be disapointed....Best RegardsBoone,[email protected]"Flying a plane is no different from riding a bicycle. Ultimate Traffic makes flying the PMDG " almost Real" I was at Atlanta last week getting ready to take off for Brussels ( Real Life, not the Sim) and looking out the window, I was thinking, " Looks just like Ultimate Traffic out there" :)

I bought the product last night, and finding Andrew's new review of both helped a lot. Thank you for the tips, I am going to look into EdVoicpack ATC too. Can you tell me the skinny of removign the standard traffic BGL - that would be a real plus! ;-)Thanks again,Ron - CYEG

My first experience with it in the wee-small hours this morning was running FS9 and poof! I had several models of the Air Canada liveries parked along side me firing up for departure. Very cool! :-cool So I moved location to KSEA and found my PMDG 900 surrounded, not by "Indians" (real airline folk lingo for a couple of the small twins, Air Canada ZIP Dash8, but no Apaches and so on) ;-). I excluded GA except for AC Zip traffic, the Lear, and the Beechs.BTW, what's the quickest way to change the labeling? I asked for NO labels but I've got them. The only problem I had in the display was a PDF glitch in the manual. Damn thing wouldn't print! So gotta solve that problem quick.Thank you for your input.Ron - CYEG

Hi Ron, you haven't mentioned Ultimate Traffic, I have it and love it. In my opinion it's the best out there.Regards,Dave
