Heat Blur v1.0

Featured Replies

Hello guys!I've just uploaded on AVSIM library a tweaking of the Nick AI jet Exhaus package that will add the Heat Blur effect to the 737NG (all series)You can find the file here:http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=...atID=fs2004miscI hope you like it..any comment will be appreciated :)P.S: remember to glance at the 737-600/700 Checklist created by me and by Massimiliano Sarotto! ;)The link?Here:http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=...atID=fs2004misc

Hey, thanks for the efforts,But after about an hour of attempts, I still can't get it to work. I tried using the older version that was for AI but that didn't work either... I don't know what's wrong with me or my procedure... I try to do everything you said and it all looks cool, but doesn't work ! I would appreciate if anyone could help...Vala

Hi there, allthough I haven't tried this effect yet... Looking at the ZIP contents I see the Effects and Gauges folder. Do you keep those when extracting into the main FS2004 folder? Like many addons, I assume the contents of Effects should go into the main FS2004 Effects folder. Same goes for the contents of Gauges. Put the FOLDER (!) called 737ng-heatblur with it's contents in the main FS2004 Gauges folder. The included readme.txt says to extract the effect and gauge file into the main FS2004 folder. Just guessing here, but I bet thats wrong...Regards,Henk-Jan

I did the correct things, but it doesn't work for me eighter.Edit:ok i see it and don't like it very much :(Ok nice try :)

whooooops! It's probably some small mistake while adding the guages etc.Works just fine for me as it is.Actually Francesco, it should work with the .xml in the end aswell. Because it does for me ... :( .. I'm sure the mistake is elsewhere on the part of the user.

Answer for Vala and Erups together ;)Hmm..really strange..The effect passed a betatest period a noone reported this bug :(Maybe an installation error..Try, as say Hakkie, to check if fx_737NG.fx is in the Effect folder of FS and if 737_heatblur.xml is placed on gauges/737ng-heatblur.If all files are placed correctly it is probably an error on copy/paste procedure in aircraft.cfg and panel.cfgIf you don't find the eorror try to send my the aircraft.cfg and panel.cfg of the modified plane at the address reported in the Readme and i'll try to check!Hope this help

Thanks Terence! If with this mod it work, why don't modify? :)But is really strange..in my {VCockpitXX} work with .xmlIf this slution solve the problem, in the next relase (yes, upgrade coming..i'm working on vortex effect on wings and on flaps) i'll modify the readme. Please let me know if removing .xml all work fine

Ehehe ;)No problem! And thanks to your investigation! So i'll keep the .xml on Readme :)

Did not work for me even after trying for over an hour!Maybe you should come up with an installer version.-NavneetAMD Athlon XP 1700+ (overclocked to 1.9Ghz)ATI Radeon 9600 128MB - Anti-Aliasing 6x512MB SD Kingston RAMWestern Digital 30 GB - Seagate 8.4GBHp CD12 CDRW - Pioneer DVD ROMConnect3D Radeon 9600 128MBLG Flatron 775FT 17' MonitorCreative SBLive! Thanks..But i meant an installer creator that allow to edit a .cfg file during the installation process, not a program to view .cfg files ;)Good new: i found the program (Install Creator Pro).Tomorrow the automated installer will enter a short beta test period an if all work fine i'll upload the new package on Avsim :)P.S: PMDG, please, which program do u use as Livery Installer?

Hey Francesco, Thank you very much for paying attention to my problem. Personally, I can't really find any errors in the cfg files, but I would like you to take a look at it. Now I don

Hi Vala! You can find my mail just at the end of the Readme file that you find in my package! :)If you don't find it let me know that and i'll sned you a private message with the mail ;)

Thanks for the package, I like it although it is a bit tricky to install. I followed Hakkie's advice regarding placement of the files. The heat blur is just a tad too dark on my particular hardware setup but I'll tweak the FX file and see what I can do. Really nice to look outside the window in the cabin view and see some blurring behind the engine during taxi and cruise. :-)R. Foster
