September 27, 200421 yr I've managed to put a route into the fmc which it seems to accept, i happily takeoff and fly away enroute but there seem to be points where for no apparent reason (sometimes i'm over a waypoint as per the fmc but no change of flight level is showing in the fmc) the a/p drops out and the plane goes into a nosedive which requires obviously immediate intervention by myself.this is probably something i'm doing wrong because i've flown several different routes to different airports and it seems to keep happening to me - mostly when it's been on a/p for a while or i've been switching views a lot (although i definitely haven't accidentally clicked off the a/p) or even if i've just gone to make a cup of tea 'cos the stewardess is having a day off!!Please help gang!CheersRick
September 28, 200421 yr Rick,It is impossible to help you without further information than that. AS this is a complex simulation we need to know what you have put into the machine as well as what the machine is telling you it's doing at the moment. A screenshot of the zoom panel or a description of the Flight Mode Annunciator (FMA) at the top of the Primary Flight Display (PFD) would help, as would a complete flight plan with all altitude and speed constraints plus your weights.Hope it helps, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
September 28, 200421 yr Did you touch the controls (i.e.-yoke or joystick) with the AP on? This will revert to CWS mode (s) and can possibly be one reason. Like Mats said a screenshot of the pilot's flight display will let us know what mode you are in and help solve your problem.Best Wishes,
Randy J. September 28, 200421 yr Just another possibility is: Are you using active sky? There have been posts of people having troubles with the A/P kicking off on them while in cruize do to a setting in AS. And in addition you should probably check your calibration on your joystick to rule out the fact that it is not sending a false command and putting the aircraft into CWS mode. ________________________________________________________________________________ Jeremy 9800X3D OC'd -30 +200MHZ | 64GB CL30 RAM | RTX 5080 | Windows 11 23H2| Bravo Throttle | Alpha Yoke | CH Pedals | Logitech Radio Panel | SmoothTrack | AAO
September 28, 200421 yr Jeremy,What setting would that be in AS?I have been using AS together with the NG since last fall even during beta of both products and have yet to see AS do anything to the NG that doesn't come from the weather AS creates. With severe weather or wake turbulence the A/P would kick off. That is normal behaviour. As a sidenote:Yes, there was issues with FS9 wind shifts and FS9 severe icing variable. Both of these anomalies where found in the FS9 wx engine. But has been corrected with the last version of FSUIPC (registered). If you don't have FSUIPC registered there are two settings in AS that will disable icing and smooth out winds.Hope it helps, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
September 28, 200421 yr Not using AS but have got real world weather enabled.Didn't touch the joystick and it's done it to me again whilst in flight. I downloaded and installed FSBuild 2.1 got it to plot a route from egbb to LYON France and imported into fs9 - flight levels all already worked out and entered by selecting the flight plan as a Co. route and then just had to input some other settings. How do i take a screenshot?CheersRick

This will certainly cause AFDS reversion.. If so disable it with the PMDG..Best Wishes,
Randy J. Smith
http://www.rawbw.com/~bdoolin/shinault/Animation1.gifCaution! Also it does not cover your performance data such as weights, cost index and so on.There's a reason we ask you to provide additional information. We have to rule out any misconfiguration of the aircraft. Without the specific information we can't help you.Cheers, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
September 29, 200421 yr Mats,Sorry I didn't mean any disrespect to AS(in fact that is my next planned purchase) but I do remember reading about the AP disconnecting in flight. I think it did have to do with the severe weather/wake turbulence. Rick, I currently use FSMetar and I am not having any problems like this. I would have to say that it could easily be a setting with your flight controls. Take a look at the sensitivities and the null zones and just experiment. Also as Mats said the more info you can give the better we can help. Are you using the load editor to configure your loads? Are you getting a porpousing effect while in cruize? What is your ZFW? There are lots of possible things and the more info you can give us the better we can help you. ________________________________________________________________________________ Jeremy 9800X3D OC'd -30 +200MHZ | 64GB CL30 RAM | RTX 5080 | Windows 11 23H2| Bravo Throttle | Alpha Yoke | CH Pedals | Logitech Radio Panel | SmoothTrack | AAO
