October 4, 200421 yr I just got the 800/900 update and I was going through the pmdg styles, which I had never done before with the 600/700. I noticed that the VNAV Alt box was not ticked. I obviously ticked it now. Could it be that i was not managing to descent the plan in the proper manner using VNAV before because it was not ticked? Also, I just did a flight and I had to descend as I was approaching destination. I was on VNAV and LNAV. Because i Had to descent before t/d, I selected the altitude through the mcp and I told the fmc to descend now. It stopped at the level which I wanted it to that is FL140. Whilst still on VNAV, I then wanted to go to 8,000FT, i selected the altitude through the mcp, but what do I have to do to get the plane to decend, still using VNAV??? ThanksIvor

No. VNAV is a temporary level off mode that allows you to remain in VNAV while at an altitude that is not the FMC target altitude. In these situations simply redial the MCP altitude and hit the ALT INTV button.Best Wishes,
Randy J. Smith
http://www.rawbw.com/~bdoolin/shinault/Animation1.gifCaution! October 5, 200421 yr How would I know which will be FMC Target altitude? Also, regarding the TCAS, during a flight which I was doing, not one plane showed up on the nd, even though test was oki. Any particular reason. I had it on TA/RA and on normal mode when i was on crusing. ThanksIvor
October 5, 200421 yr Ivor,> ...regarding the TCAS, during a flight which I was doing, not one> plane showed up on the nd, even though test was oki. Any> particular reason...:-) If you were an airline pilot you would be jumping up and down if you didn't have any planes showing on the TCAS. The reason for that is that every plane that shows up on the TCAS is considered a threat by the system. So in your case, you had no threats this flight! Great eh?> I had it on TA/RA and on normal mode when> i was on crusing. Yeah well, if you want it to monitor every airplane movement around you (Which the real one does not.) you can change your options on the Various tab in the PMDG|737NG|Styles menu. Check chapter 09 in the Manual pages 9-16 to 9-18 for more information.Hope it helps, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
October 5, 200421 yr For TCAS, make sure you also press the TFC button on the EFIS panel. George Morris
