October 8, 200421 yr Hi everybody!During my last flight I noticed that the switching of the ENG and SYS-page on the lower EICAS is somewhat...
October 8, 200421 yr Yep, so one should push ENG then ENG again before pushing SYSEM. So it was made that way, I htought it was not correct either but to tell you the truth there is only one way to find out simply because the manuals do not say what happens if you push one then push the other without first closing the first view. I tend to believe it is wrong but I was told it was correct ;-DBest Wishes,
Randy J. Smith
http://www.rawbw.com/~bdoolin/shinault/Animation1.gifCaution! October 8, 200421 yr Hi Randy!>>"Yep, so one should push ENG then ENG again before pushing SYSEM"I think it is the other way round (in real life/PMDG?)...if you push ENG, you can select SYSTEM without cancelling the ENG-page, but if you are on the SYS-page, you have to cancel SYSTEM page first and then select ENG.The most practical thing would have been to let the pilot change the pages with one press on the corresponding pushbutton (not relevant if the page is blank or if the other page is selected) and have the screen blanked with a push on the button of the page the EICAS currently displays!Stefan
October 8, 200421 yr Commercial Member Gents-what's apparent or obvious or logical to you or me makes no difference, as long as we are told what happens in the real bird. I coded this behaviour like that after having it as you described, only because I was told by multiple NG drivers that it's how it behaved. If they're wrong, well... October 9, 200421 yr Well where is the proof? Like I said, I had this discussion and even though I believed it might be incorrect I was told the RL drivers said it was correct. There is no way to know exactly how this is suppose to be without actually sitting on the real bird or a full motion sim and I take Lefteris's word on the matter..Best Wishes,
Randy J. October 9, 200421 yr I guess the real world drivers should know, you're right Lefteris - so thanks again for this confirmation!@ Randy: I take his word, too *g* - thanks to your reply as well.Best regards,Stefan
November 3, 200421 yr Can some one be Kind enough to help me do this! i cannot switch the system gauge and the engine gauge, when i press the buttons nothing happens i have been trying for hours :S Pls help me! :)Regards Luke
November 3, 200421 yr Luke,First you have to go to the PMDG menu and set the displays to over/under. If it is set to side-by-side, the lower EICAS page will not function.Cheers, Balint Nagy
November 3, 200421 yr Luke,You have to expect this page in a separate, sort of a pop-up window, which you have to bring up first by right-clicking the EICAS display. Do you do this before clicking on engine or system buttons?Cheers, Balint Nagy
