Failures not working....

Featured Replies

I just downloaded the 600/700 package yesterday (so it is version 1.3). I am updated to MSFS 9.1 and have an unregistered version of FSUCIP 3.4. So far, great product. One thing, my failures do not seem to be working correctly. For example...1) I'll select an engine fire to occour within a few seconds. But, instead of an engine fire the eng overheat lamp illuminates on the throttle quardrent. No bells, no nothing, no EICAS warning. 2) I'll select gear failures...nothing apparently occours.3) APU fire works!I haven't tried every single failure, but aside from the APU failure, nothing else is working properly or at all????I did do a forum search for this and didn't come up with much info.Any help will be greatly appreciated.Mike BrownP.S. Doesn't seem to matter whether I am in the air or not either.

** UPDATE **Engine Fire definatley does not work. Like I said, only creates an OVR HEAT amber warning light on the throttle area. I tried fuel filter failure, that seemed to work, the FUEL BYPASS light lit on the overhead. No hydralic failures worked. No EICAS messages nor warning lights lit up. However, the failures do show up as RED (active) in the PMDG pull down menu.Any ideas??Mike Brown

Failures failed lol? No really don't have a clue man, to be candid, I just did not care if they did or not, I personally was too concerned with other aspects of the sim like the FMC to bother with failuers. I remember engine failure at V1 working, this being the ONE FAILURE that is really important to someone training on an aircraft IMO.So your guess is as good as mine. You can try writing PMDG and asking..Best Wishes,
Randy J. Smith
http://www.rawbw.com/~bdoolin/shinault/southparkcartmad.gif
I WANT MY 747!
Caution! I got my answer from PMDG today. Seems when 1.3 patch came out there was an attempt to address this issue, however, PMDG says it may need to re-write some code in order to get the failures working as they were intended too. The chances of a fix for this is slim because of that.Oh well...other than that its a great product. I'll live with out it. I be purchasing the 800/900 package soon too.Mike Brown

I was going to spend some time on failures in the next book, but if they aren't working correctly, I won't bother, and will leave that for a future update or new chapter.

Any update to this issue?I've got the 737-6/-7 sim and I can't get a ENG 1/2 OVHT to trip the Master Caution or to show up on the "6 pack" when set for a failure. It tests fine during preflight.I'm new to the sim world, and I could use some help to get this figured out.Matt Colles"Brick & Mortar" 737 pilot
