November 20, 200421 yr Hi all,Yesterday I purchased and installed the PMDG B1900 (including the update/upgrade v1.1 or something like that) along with the Reality XP Jetline 2 gauges. Overall I am very disappointed with the product. I guess it just must be me, since the majority of the reviews and posts I'd read about it were complimentary.I will be the first to admit that the visual and flight models are very good. The source of my disappointment is the panel and the sounds. The included panel is pretty much the stock MSFS KingAir, and when using the Reality XP gauges, they are so small as to be unreadable...unless a person uses the popup windows, which I dislike. Also, the sound changes tone/pitch/timbre up and down even with a constant power and prop setting.I certainly wish the developers would have spent a little more time in these areas. After this unpalatable experience, I will not be buying any products from PMDG in the future. Just my .02 and needed to vent a little.Regards,ScottKJMS "...now let's get this thing on the hump - we've got some flyin' to do!" ~ Major Kong from "Dr. Stranglove" Scott Cebula
November 20, 200421 yr Thats too bad. I haven't purchased the turbo prop as I am typically only interested in the big iron. I do own the 737-6/7/8/900 packages. And I can assure you, if you happen to change your mind in the future, that they are indeed excellent in all respects. The ONLY down side I see in thier product is that the failures don't work right, but then again, for me that isn't too big of a deal. The rest of the plane works like a charm.Mike Brown Mike Brown
November 20, 200421 yr The B1900 is a express product. If you read what was on the Beech 1900 page, you would see this:The PMDG Express product line is designed to be attractive to flight simulator users who are interested in a less study-intensive simulation experience. PMDG Express products marry highly detailed visual models with realistic flight dynamics and a comprehensive cockpit environment without requiring the user to study for an airline pilot exam. Dan
November 20, 200421 yr Author With all due respect, do not assume I did not read that.I did read that statement before I purchased the product. I was looking for a quality aircraft that does note require spending 10 or 20mins in a cold and dark cockpit before you can fire the thing up.It is the lack of quality of the panel and sounds that I am disappointed in.Regards,ScottKJMS "...now let's get this thing on the hump - we've got some flyin' to do!" ~ Major Kong from "Dr. Stranglove" Scott Cebula
November 21, 200421 yr Hi, Scott:I bought the B1900 for the same reason -- simplified startup and getting in the air quickly. Unfortunately, I don't have an hour to prepare to fly most of the time.I am running Jetline 2, as well. I am not sure that PMDG could have done anything about that. There is only so much space on the panel and to size the guages properly, they HAVE to be reduced. You might want to try hooking up a second monitor. I have done that and run Weather Radar over on it.I think that this is a great product that meets my specific needs. My only problem has been getting support to respond, but heck, look what we paid for it!Personally, I hope that they come out with more Express products. They fit a niche for those of us who have limited time to enjoy flying. This provides us with a taste of PMDG quality aircraft, for a budget price.Just another opinion,Wilson

November 21, 200421 yr I have no issues with the 1900. The product is great and you get a lot for only $15. As far as the sounds go, they are about 95% of what the real thing sounds like. I didn't buy this product until after I had been on a 1900D and once I did get it, I was amazed at how it sounds the same in the sim as in real life. Sorry you are disappointed but maybe you were expecting a little to much from the Express line.-Ryan
November 22, 200421 yr Its disapointing to hear these kinds of comments. If you ask me PMDG did a pretty dang good job! Real Life Panel:http://www.airliners.net/open.file/615130/M/From what ive seen in my sim (without RXP Guages), its pretty close.
