December 31, 200421 yr Hi,Can anyone provide me any tips for loading the 737 properly. In the FMC my CG is always in the 20% range, and I get a severe (10 degrees) nose up attitude on final approach. I usually load full pax - 6, and one full box for the fwd. cargo hold and two full boxes in the aft. cargo hold. What kind of CG should I have? In the 50% range? Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.BTW: A few weeks ago I posted a question about my PPL checkride and never followed up with the result, long story short, I did get my license, and will get a complex endorsement later this week. Thanks,Jeff USAF Jeff Commercial | Instrument | Multi-Engine Land AMD 5600X, RTX3070, 32MB RAM, 2TB SSD

December 31, 200421 yr Hey Jeff,Congrats on getting your ticket :)The way I set up the loading on my NG's is to start out by adding a full load of pax and then bring the weight up to MAXzfw by using cargo which is loaded based on the table near the bottom of [a href=http://www.b737.org.uk/aircraft_general.htm]this[/a] page. The tables I have give stab trim settings for C.G. (% MAC) of between 6 and 30 so your 20 odd setting is about right. I think I get around 23% for my CofG on pretty much all the NG's by loading them in the above fashion. Here's part of my loadedit.ini file which shows how I load them up[Common]SeatWeight=180[600_Single]Aircraft1=PMDG737-600MTOW=144000MZFW=113500MFW=46063MinFW=8500OEW=80200MaxPax_Coach=123MaxPax_First=0MaxCargo_Fwd=9200MaxCargo_Aft=10000// PEOPLE: DO NOT TOUCH THESE NUMBERS...First_X=0First_Y=0First_W=0First_H=0Coach_X=50Coach_Y=10Coach_W=300Coach_H=80Pax_First=0Pax_Coach=123Cargo_Fwd=9200Cargo_Aft=1900[700_Single]Aircraft1=PMDG737-700Aircraft2=PMDG737-700-WingletsMTOW=153500MZFW=120500MFW=46063MinFW=8500OEW=83000MaxPax_Coach=148MaxPax_First=0MaxCargo_Fwd=12200MaxCargo_Aft=15000// PEOPLE: DO NOT TOUCH THESE NUMBERS...First_X=0First_Y=0First_W=0First_H=0Coach_X=46Coach_Y=10Coach_W=325Coach_H=80Pax_First=0Pax_Coach=148Cargo_Fwd=4514Cargo_Aft=6300[800_Single]Aircraft1=PMDG737-800Aircraft2=PMDG737-800-WingletsMTOW=173000MZFW=136000MFW=46063MinFW=8500OEW=91300MaxPax_Coach=175MaxPax_First=0MaxCargo_Fwd=20794MaxCargo_Aft=22625// PEOPLE: DO NOT TOUCH THESE NUMBERS...First_X=0First_Y=0First_W=0First_H=0Coach_X=46Coach_Y=10Coach_W=325Coach_H=80Pax_First=0Pax_Coach=175Cargo_Fwd=0Cargo_Aft=13122[900_Single]Aircraft1=PMDG737-900MTOW=174200MZFW=140300MFW=46063MinFW=8500OEW=94580MaxPax_Coach=189MaxPax_First=0MaxCargo_Fwd=25241MaxCargo_Aft=25468// PEOPLE: DO NOT TOUCH THESE NUMBERS...First_X=0First_Y=0First_W=0First_H=0Coach_X=46Coach_Y=10Coach_W=325Coach_H=80Pax_First=0Pax_Coach=189Cargo_Fwd=2776Cargo_Aft=8913Those settings give ZFW results as follows:600 - 113440700 - 120454800 - 135696900 - 139783As far as the dramatic up-pitch on selecting flaps 15. I've not seen it as dramatic as you have described but I do get a pitch up movement if I'm selecting flap 15 at a higher speed (at the higher end of the flap 15 operating range I mean).Hope it helps,Cheers,David
December 31, 200421 yr Author Thanks for your reply. I wasn't sure what an appropriate CG was. I'll give those settings a try. Thanks againJeff USAF Jeff Commercial | Instrument | Multi-Engine Land AMD 5600X, RTX3070, 32MB RAM, 2TB SSD
January 1, 200521 yr Jeff, Have a look at this chart. It should give you a good indication of the loading parameters for the NG.http://www.voz.ozflight.com.au/infopack/c%...20g%20chart.gifSkip
