March 8, 200521 yr I was flying to KLAS and selected RWY 1L due to the winds. Normally I kinda avoid DME arc's but I figured I'd try it. Having read Bill Bulfer's "FMC User's Guide" I set a fix at LAS with a 14 nm arc at the 140 radial. I set the approach RWY as 1L. I was using the LUXOR2 for the approach and left BAMAA on a 203 heading. There was the green dotted circle with the dotted line along the 140 radial. I followed the circle and there was the white dotted line for the RWY heading. Made the turn onto the RWY heading and and landed no problem. Had I known it was this easy to fly a DME arc using this bird I would have been doing them all along.Ray
March 8, 200521 yr I have a question on a similar topic:Is it possible to program the FMC to use a DME arc as a conditional waypoint, e.g. cross X DME from fix ABC at or below a specific altitude? IIRC there is a departure at LAX that uses such a proceedure.-Lee Barberhttp://home.nc.rr.com/uniuniunium/dvasig.jpg Lee Barber - Rochester, NY PPL-G
March 8, 200521 yr I believe so. You would make a temporary waypoint at the need location. Then in the legs page you would assign a speed and/or an altitude restriction.
March 9, 200521 yr Commercial Member YeahEnter in for instance LAX250/10 on the LEGS page, then add whatever speed/alt you need on the right side... Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
March 9, 200521 yr http://www.colatc.org/modules.php?name=Dow...p=getit&lid=123DME Circle approach, it can be programmed into the fMC in its entiretyRemember to put in the LEGS page using the LSKsFixBearing/DistanceIn this CaseThe first way point would beSPP313/13The secondSPP338/13and so onFMC Plots the Waypoints as SPP01, SPP02 etc...You can put even Speed and Altitude restrictions, everything is in the manual.... What an Airplane!
March 16, 200521 yr Dear Ray.I have read your message, I will send you an example making ARCs/DME.You only have to copy and paste the followings lines into your PMDG SID/STAR file inside "SACO notepad" making this, you will be able to do this procedure at Cordoba INTL airport...Regards...
