March 25, 200521 yr Hi everybody out there!Befor start and takeoff I setup my main panel as indicated in the checklists for the PMDG 737 NG. On the MCP the altitude is often set to a local value, typically about 3000 feets. That's what I'm told in the different tutorials I have tried to fly. Is there any "rule" for setting this local altitude? Why not just put in the cruise altitude before take-off?Lars
March 25, 200521 yr Lars,Usually you take off and will fly a departure procedure (SID/DP). These departure procedures usually has an first mandatory altitude you are supposed to climb to if nothing else is cleared with ATC. At ESSA, Arlanda, Sweden the altitude you'll get is 5000 feet and it varies from airport to airport, from country to country.Hope it helps, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
