April 13, 200521 yr You might want to check the approach plate for the minimums on that one :)KSAN is one of my all time favorites!
April 13, 200521 yr Just tried the DCA 19 River visual for the first time. Best approach ever! I never had so much fun handflying. The Fix pages with DME arcs came in very handy though. I also programmed my legs page with Place-bearing distance waypoints with hard alt constraints using the recommended altitudes from the plate. I wonder if the pros handle it in a similar fashion. Seemes to be a smart approach to me anyway. I was also wondering what speed and flap extension schedule the pros use for this particular scenario? I tried using flaps 5 @ flaps 5 maneuvering speed from 3000 at the 10 dme arc but soon learned I should have been "more configured" for landing since it got a little tight. Anyway, thank you guys for pointing out this interesting approach. And go try KASE's LDA by the way!Happy landings,Victorhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpg Cheers,Victor M. April 13, 200521 yr Here's one for the Beech: KDEN to KTEX (Telluride) The approach plate takes you to the ELT VOR at 12,000, then 108 degrees to intercept the LOC for Rwy 9. I will suggest doing this approach CAVU first, then try it with some real weather :-sae Mike
April 15, 200521 yr Yeah,Gotta love the approach to RWY09. I flew there two summers ago for my honeymoon. Guess my wife was surprised when I told her to look out the right window and look at the runway. -That's the runway we are landing on in a few seconds, I told her. She wouldn't belive me until we touched down...Same aircraft in both pictures. Both pictures taken from same location, the terminal waiting to bord the flight home.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/112891.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/112892.jpgCheers, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
