Autopilot digits

Featured Replies

i recently downloaded tim's tutorial V2 and there was a photo of his panel. i noticed the the digits on the autopilot where like on e.g. calculator where mine where solid blocks. The photos below shows the two panels. "panel" is tim's and "panel1" is mine. is it possible to change the digits like tim's? Both photos are from the 737-700 but I also have to 800/900 and the update to upgrade the 600/700 like the 8/9. I dont know if tim had these. also the text on tim's photo seems much sharper than on mine. I have noticed that text on my 737 is not every sharp. i have changed many settings on my card - Nvidia FX5200 at 1024 x 768 but i havnt noticed any difference. ThanksLuke

Luke,I think this is mainly due to your screen resolution. If you try 1280x960 or higher I think you will get the digits as sharp as for Tim's panel.Hope it helps,

unfortunately my monitor doesnt go any higher than 1024 x 768. :( is there any other way to sharpen the graphics? Thanks anyway.Luke

Luke,To my knowledge increasing the resolution to 1280x960 or above is the only way to make the panel and digits sharper. I'm sorry. :-(If money's not an object. You'll be amazed what a new 19", or even 21", monitor will do to flight simming! ;-)Cheers,

ye, should it b?Luke

Luke,I had the digits blanked out for a long time too. I believe the problem for me was that my monitor resolution didn't match the resolution in FS9. Once I set the flight simulator "settings" display setting to 1024 x 768 to match my monitor resolution, like magic the digits came in and the fuzzy writing sharpened up.Jim Liebenstein

The resolution of FS was already the same as my display. Thanks anyway. I also noticed that when I am on virtual cockpit the digits appear like tim's, but not on 2D cockpit. Tim's view appears to be on 2D cockpit so how do i make them appear like that on 2D cockpit as well?Luke
