June 23, 200520 yr While waiting for Randy's pics I wanted to started another thread on this topic since the other thread strayed bit off topic.Modeling N1 fluctuations is great news but moderation is required since as the Virgin DVD shows the fluctuations are small, at least in cruise. Just to give concrete example if we focus on one engine we could see N1 at 67.8 and it would stay this way for a good 30 sec or so. Then the last digit would change to say '9' and after another 10 sec or so it would return to the original 67.8. It would always be either '8' or '9' at the end in this particular example. And I never saw frequency of change exceeding 3 per minute.
