First of all, Where is the HTF Detractor located. I need to know this to see if I have it on the right position. Also I will listen for the sound on sunday. I can't wait to try all this new stuff. Just thanks again keep all the updates comming. Thanks again. :)Davidhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/checkcapt.jpg

HTF detractor is now superceded by the CRM 429 discriminator, just make sure its not in manual overide. Also make sure manual teleflex cable is set to emergency 28VDC overide and the barometric pressure switches are at 100Ft. Try to stay aligned on the target, all should go well.:-wink2

David, Ignore Wallace, he is having a go at you, some people seem to like messing around a little too much! :-) Everything is probably fine, it is just that you are taking control of the plane when you move the controls rather than letting autoland do it's magic.Best,Philip Olsonhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg

Alright, I think I might have found my Problem. Well when I fly into my Line for my final on the GPS thing next to my PFD. Well I seem to keep everything on including the v-SPEED, THE AUTOTHROTTLE, THE HEADING CONTROL :) Or a screenshot would help. [email protected]. EMAIL :) Thanks. Man my addrenalen was running. I can't spell correctly now. :) Thanks everybody.Davidhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg

David, Let me give you a brief explanation of how I do it when I am just messing around, this is going to be down and dirty, not scientific at all. Ok, I am flying along getting near the intercept point of an ILS runway, if this is a casual flight I have the HDG SEL enabled to keep me going where I want to go, the ALT HLD is keeping me at my desired altitude and I have speed selected and the A/T engaged, also I have the frequency tuned into the Nav1 and Nav2 radios and I am watching for movement of the needle to indicate that I am about to capture the ILS. As soon as I see movement I hit the APP button and the aircraft should turn to intercept, then I usually hit CMD B and I am done as long as the aircraft is configured for landing. I don't do anything else and the plane lands itself, I do not turn anything else on or off. It should be that simple to get your plane to autoland, of course you have to configure your plane correctly and make sure your speed is ok or you may have trouble. Well Thanks verymuch. It seems I can do this. How Smooth will the aircraft Touch down also?? Thanks. :)Davidhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg

Philip's explanation is great...Do as explained, but do not forget to select your flap and speed configuration (into the FMC, index, approach, then choose 30

Goodness me, much ado about autolands :DThis has of course been covered at length elswewhere in the forum but can I just suggest that you try my Geezer Guide which is available from my homepage as shown below. It is a full tutorial for a flight and ends with a perfect autoland in NZWN.LMK if you still have problems.Regards,
