747 Rolling back after pushback even with brakes on

Recommended Posts

(Apologies if this appears twice, but the first post seemed to disappear.)Was going through the 'standard procedures' tutorial for the 747 and kept crashing.Whenever I did pushback I was rolled back and turned, and the call for parking brakes would come. Parking brakes on but I was still rolling back. Parking brake on with engines on or off and was still rolling back. Foot brakes didn't stop it. Just rolled slowly back until I hit a building and crashed.Tried a search here at Avsim for the problem, but couldn't find anything.Anyone know what the problem is?Something I missed in startup?Any ideas?

I'll ask Vangelis to take a look at this... Did you try pressing Shift-P (the default command for pushback) or pressing the pushback gauge button again? Those are both supposed to reset it.

Same prob a few days ago. Flew KLAX-KDEN, but did not save the flight nor close down FS; instead loaded RC plan KDEN-KORD. I went thru the prestart, pushback and start checklist (FDC and RC). When I set brakes, a/c continued moving backwards- reset the pushback gauge at least twice, pressed "Y" for slew, had to close the program and start again.louross.

Pressing Shift P stops the plane, but unless you do that it continues to rollback.
