  1. Hi, I have just got the Aerosoft PMDG 737NGX DVD box set (bought as a gift hence my getting the box rather than the more normal download). Firstly, do I come here for support, or do I need to go to Aerosoft? I'm assuming here as it a PMDG plane even though it is in an Aerosoft box, so will get the best answers here. Are there any differences, gotcha's or caveats regarding the Aerosoft Box as oppossed to the direct download from PMDG? I'm assuming it is the same just stuck on CD and having the tutorial booklet - just like the older boxed PMDG 737 600/700 box I got a while ago for FS2004. Does the box set need the SP1c update? Or is it already part of the Box set version? Nothing specific stated about SP1, so would assume I need it - but thought I'd better ask rather than screw something up with an incorrect update. Cheers Stuntie.
  2. Well Duke Nukem forever is out soon as well (in developemnt since 1997), so maybe Judgment day has arrived, The Mayans were right, and Hell really has frozen over....CheersStuntie.
  3. Thats what I would do.I am not a pilot, never actually flown anything in my life (yet...).I know enough though from PMDG and Flight sims to want to give it a go at a real landing, and reckon I could get it down intact - maybe not the best of landings, but a very survivable one. I would love to give it a go.However, with souls on board you are flying for their lifes, so the safest and simplest option is the best option. Fully automated and with the tower and real pilots on the radio talking you through every step - even the 'stating the bleeding obvious' ones like 'gear down'. It may be boring from a flying point of view, but landing safely is your only aim in such a situation, not having fun. Once it is safely down and you have become the hero of the hour :( - then you could always mention to the airline about maybe them giving you some flying time/LevelD time as a reward and a help just in case it happens again. Then it would be win win - you save their plane, they get good PR, you get the praise, the fun, and most importantly you get to live.
  4. XML is like that.it is a data structure that expects the data it contains to be in the correct format and pattern, so even a small error or alteration can bust the sequence, causing problems for the rest of the data.A simple programmers trick with XML is to open the file (or a copy of it if you want to fiddle with it) in Internet Explorer and see if it looks broken. IE can handle xml files and shows the data with click to open/close sections in it. (Also handy for seeing how the data is organised)You can often spot the errors in XML by seeing where IE falls over in the file, or by comparing the raw XML with what IE displays. (i.e is there a chunk not displaing in IE).CheersStuntie.
  5. There is always the Salmon-30-Salmon from Alaska.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Alaska_Airlines_%22Salmon-30-Salmon%22_Boeing_737-490_N792AS.jpgCheersStuntie.
  6. Found this article:http://news.uk.msn.com/uk/article.aspx?cp-...entid=148386770Anything for an extra buck...Would be interesting to find out Boeings response - other than 'what's this guy smoking?'
  7. >If only some of those who send us strings of obscenities and>death threats could take home a lesson from reading your>message!>That the mother in law hassling you again?Must admit having done software support how nice it is to see praise and apologies, given that what you normally see are the problems and complaints. So, keep up the excellent work, and I look forwards to the MD-11 and future products.
  8. How do you get this to work?I made the cfg files and edited them, but when I try it as soon as I modify any controls it changes it back to 'Standard'[CONTROLS]Controls_Default=StandardControls_Current=Heloturns back to[CONTROLS]Controls_Default=StandardControls_Current=StandardDo you have to make all the config settings and never ever alter any of them after making the cfg file? Are there specific locations where each file should be?I have the Helo.cfg in the FSX folder, and helo.xml in the doc and settings/fsx/controls folder.Any suggestions?

Don't touch the buttons, but scan the checklists from Cold to startup to see if anything got missed out.Helps spot the bits you missed, so you can learn to check for then in the future.

    >>>There will most likely be a cutoff date for previous>download>>version 747-400 owners, which will be applied towards the>>discount.>>>>Well, now I can forget about a discount myself, since I bought>both products as soon as they where out...>>Oh well>>Cheers,>>JorgeI think he means that there will be a cutoff date after the release of the FSX version, not when you bought the FS2004 versions.I.e. Buy within XXX months of the release of the FSX version and get the discount. After that you will need to pay full price.I hope so anyway, as I too got them upon release.
  11. Ooo the Finnair Mumintrolls.Nice.
  12. XP with FS9 and FSX.FS9 purely for the PMDG 747 and the PSS 757.When they move to FSX FS9 will be unlikely to remain on the drive.Waiting for new year sales for a Vista DX10 upgrade and will probably be Vista + FSX only after that.
  13. Hiya,Saw this problem in the Just Flight forum, and was so amused I thought I'd share it.Ever tried using FSX to plot a high alt route to Iceland? "Finding Route from Boston (KBOS) to Kelfavik (BIKF). This could take some time..."It sure could. via Alaska, over Greenland to the Orkney's (flying all the way past Iceland in the process), and then on to Iceland.Bravo!Wonder if it is unsure about NAT's and ETOPS?But even then, why fly from Greenland to Scotland right past Iceland.
  14. Hi.Thanks for the information (hope the VA isn't upset).Didn't know BA had sold it's 400F.
  15. Hi,Anybody know what Cargo routes BA uses it's 400F's on?Particularly any European routes.Thanks.

  17. >Does the software main screen say it's connected to FSX when>you run everything? It's one thing to have an FSX profile>enabled, it's another to have TrackIR actually connect to the>software. 18. >Is the blue led coming on, when FSX loads a flight?Sorry for the delay responding. Been a busy weekend. No Blue LED.I get the Blue LED with IL-2 BoB and other games. Nothing with FSX.Tracking is fine.Main tab says current Profile: Default profile.Current game : None
