PFD alt tape display

Featured Replies

Hi all, lately I'm experiencing a slight problem in my PFD altitude tape indication: in both the PMDG 737 and 747, it appears the font is slightly too large and the RH digit is almost off the display:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/134020.jpgThis is from the 737-800 popup, but it is the same in panel and VC in both 737 and 747.It looks as if the font is slightly too large...perhaps it was changed or replaced when installing something else?Radeon 9700 Pro, latest (5-11) Catalyst drivers, 1280x960x32 resolution. I have tried other resolutions and PFD settings, same thing.I've searched on both this and the old forum but could not find a reference to the same issue. Is there anything I can do to fix this, hopefully without reinstalling the aircraft themselves, but by replacing a font or changing a setting? Hope someone can help,Martijn

Yeah,I think you are missing a font that needs to be in Windows for the DUs to display the letters/digits properly. Check and see if you have the font arialn.ttf, arialnb.ttf, arialnbi.ttf and arialni.ttf in your %windows root%Fonts folder. These should be installed automatically by the NG and the 744 but may be uninstalled by MS Office or similar. Also make sure you have administrator rights on the computer you're installing to. I do think only administrators have the right to add/delete files from Fonts.Hope it helps,

Thanks, Mats,OK thanks that could be it-something must have gone wrong: the fonts appear to be actually in that folder, but they're all at 0k in size!Edit:Fixed! Found and reinstalled the fonts, displays are looking fine again! Thanks again,Martijn
