February 4, 200620 yr You know it is possible to manually enter the SID/STAR into the FMC, I do it all the time... just find the approach or departure plates, print it off and once you select your t/o runway in the DEP/ARR page just punch in the waypoints into the RTE page, theres no difference except for on arrivals where a little extra work is involved in finding the crossing fix (i.e Cross TEDDY at 10,000 and 250kts). You can just punch that in manually as well. Its a little extra work but it helps you understand the approach or departure a little more since you spent that little extra time planning for it.
