Auto pilot keeps on dis-engaging

Featured Replies

I wonder if anyone can help, every time I am about to land in an airport using the PMDG 747-400 in auto landing mode the auto pilot disengages for some reason, has any body else experienced this problem, if so can you kindly please tell me what to do in order to rectify this annoying problem, thanks.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_pf.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e62/ritzer82/untitled.jpg

Hi AmsterdamerWith a problem like this one needs to use a system of elimination to try and resolve the problem. The first thing you must try is to look in the PMDG setup tab under GENERAL, the OPTIONS then AFDS and clear any ticked boxes in the Control override section, as any ticks in these boxes will cause an autopilot disconnect by design if you touch the Throttle or Elevators/ailerons/rudders as the system will think you want to manually intervene and disconnect the auto pilot if you move any of the controls mentioned above. This is not a fault but a design option, so eliminate this possibility first.regardsJohn CallejaBAW 352

Just an idea: Are you using activesky or an ai traffic addon? If you are you may be flying into the wake of another aircraft if you are following too close. I have had Autopilot disengage for this reason. Keeping my distance solves the problem for me. You can also choose to disable "Wake Turbulence Simulation" in activesky options.
