747-400F ZFW?

Featured Replies

Fellow 747-400F pilots. After reading page 3 of the Cruise & Planning document I noticed that the Maximum Zero Fuel Weight is 535,000 lb. The 747-400F Load Manages shows the max Zero Fuel Wt as 635,000 lb. Which one is correct? If I had to guess I'd go with the higher, but as I only play the part of a 747 pilot in FS I really don't know.

ZFW on the 747-400 (Passagnger) is 535,000 and 747-400F (Cargo) is 635,000.I think Mark

Mark, I think you are right. But what is the correct MLW for the -400F? 100,000 lbs more than -400 would mean 660,000 lbs or something like that. Does anybody have the exact number? I couldn't find it in the manuals. Thanks, Tom.

>ZFW on the 747-400 (Passagnger) is 535,000 and 747-400F>(Cargo) is 635,000.I wonder if this is so, the difference is pretty huge. Also the fact that both numbers end with the same "35,000" makes me suspicious. Such huge difference could only be supported by significantly stronger wing box on the -400F yet I don't think there is any structural difference between both version. Maybe it would be possible to verify those numbers against other sources.Michael J.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/for...argo_hauler.gifhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-beta.jpg

Yeah there differeces : The max ZFW is 242.7 tons for the 744and 288 for the 744FThe Maximum landing Weight for the pax is 285.7 t while for the cargo should be 302t (666000 Lbs )( it's missing from the Manual thought ) .http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...ing_type=search

Thanks guys. It looks like the fuel calc I've got uses the 400 ZFW too. It's no big deal because extra weight can still be added but at least I know when the field goes red (indicating over ZF weight) the 400F can still take on more cargo. I suspected the larger figure was the correct one.
