Panel update?

Featured Replies

Gentlemen, watching a video of the 744F, I have seen that some panel bitmaps have been slightly changed compared to the 744 Pax. E.g., the 3 CRT screens shown in the "maximized" captain panel look more symmetric now - and much better than before. Are those changes 744F-only or did PMDG update the 744 Pax panel too?Cheers,Chris.

Chris-I'm not sure what you are asking specificlaly- so i'm afraid Vin might have answered you incorrectly as well....Lets try this:1) We have modeled only the original 747-400 configuration layout visually. You can select via PMDG Options to use the data displayed on the LCD type screens- but the phyiscal appearance of the PAX airplane will never change- it is designed to look like CRTs.2) We have modeled only the CRT configuration layout visually in the 400F. You can select via PMDG Options to use the data displayed on the CRT type screens if you wish- but the physical appearance of the 400F airplane will never change- it is designed to look like LCDs.Does that answer your question(s)?:-)

Vin & Robert, thank you very much for your answers. You are correct, I was talking about the physical appearance of the CRTs in the Pax - I have the impression that the new 744F LCDs have been - graphically - placed with a little more - excuse the term - "care".Screenshot:744-2.JPGThe CRTs of the Pax have slightly different sizes. Additionally, I get a nasty flickering in the red-marked area, both on ground and on air, and in windows & in full screen mode. Have you experienced this gfx bug too and is there some known workaround?Another little thing:When using windows mode, some bitmaps cut off some labels, as shown in my 2nd screenshot:744-1.JPGEye candy, yes, but your product is that great that fixing those small things would make it a jewel.Best regards,Chris. Please consider this message to be constructive criticism. I don't want to sound impolite, and no offense is meant of course.

Chris-This type of flickering can be caused by the manner in which MSFS resizes the screen....If you are running a non-native resolution and/or stretching the screen in any fashion (i do both) you can sometimes see this...We were able to eliminate it for most resolutions- but occasionally users will see it. Not much more we can do for you, unfortunately.
