Setting cold and dark on 737NG

Featured Replies

This will probably be an easy one for the experts. When I first installed the 737NG I feel sure there was an option in the PMDG menu to set up how you wanted the a/craft to load up i.e. cold and dark, powered with engines off, engines running, etc. However, since adding the 800/900 I cannot find where to set this up? Can anyone assist me please? Thanks.Iain

What you could do is load up the aircraft, set all the buttons and knobs as they would be in a cold and dark setup, save the flight and make it the default flight for FSthen when you load up this flight in future you will be in a cold and dark situation

I wasn't necessarily thinking of setting the default flight and I have found that it's not always possible to save a particular state on the 737NG i.e. certain switches on the overhead will revert to default as will the fuel levers on the throttle quadrant. My question really was has something changed as a result of upgrading to the 800/900 or is my memory playing tricks? :-hmmm Iain

Don't believe there was ever a cold and dark setting in PMDG options or the load manager. It's always been (as with the 747) run the shutdown and securing checklists and then save the flight. (or panel state for the 744)

Guys,There is a file I downloaded from Avsim Library some time ago that makes all the FS aircrafts start cold and dark. It also appears to work fine on add-on's including the PMDG737NG as well. I am not sure where I found it as it was a long time ago, but you should be able to search the library for it.RegardsStephan
