Need some Help with inflight planning...

Recommended Posts

Hey guys!Is there a way to get information about the destination airport in FS2004 while inflight? This is meant especially for Airports without ATIS such as EDDW (Actually in real it has ATIS).Is there any solution? Thanks!Thomas

Hi thereIf using real-wrold weather:Go to www.aviationweather.gov, and go to the METAR section on the left-hand frame. Get the METARs/TAFs for the airport (EDDF I assume), and make sure to click 'Translate' instead of 'Raw' (unless you know how to read METARs/TAFs). Make a note of the zulu time you are flying in and just look up the forecast for that time period - should give you a good idea about what the weater will be like. Won't tell you runway in use - but you can have a good guess at the runway in use with your knowledge of the airport and wind direction in mind.If you have ActiveSky, you could simply use its METAR/TAF function. As far as I know, there is no way to obtain information other than ATIS info in flightsim, if it is in range (or even there!).If you ever fly in Australia, www.rwy34.com has ATIS info four 7-8 airports in Australia. I don't know of any other ATIs sites, but I am hoping if anyone does, they will add them to PMDG Ops.Hope this helpsRudy.
