July 28, 200619 yr Quick question, with the autopilot engaged, when it trims the tail plane why are the pilots aurally alerted? I believe the same happens with the ATR series of aircraft. And why don't Airbus/Boeing aircraft have this warning? Thanks,Paul
July 28, 200619 yr Commercial Member Paul,On the MD-11 (I think also on the ATR) there is also an aural alert when trimming manually. The warning sounds after you - or the autopilot, or LSAS - trims more than 2 Markus Burkhard
July 28, 200619 yr Commercial Member Yeah runaway/uncommanded trim would be my guess too - you have to react very quickly if that happens or you're gonna be in a ton of trouble. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
July 29, 200619 yr Speaking of LSAS thing, are you guys going to model it? I remember Robert said he didn't like it but it's kinda cool! You can read about it herehttp://www.win.net/~hal1000/md11/AFS%20Panel.pdf
July 29, 200619 yr Commercial Member There I've heard different things from Robert ;)The PMDG way is, if it can be done correctly within the limits of MSFS it will be done. After all an A320 is announced, that one has an even more complex flight control system.Regards,Markus Markus Burkhard
