September 10, 200619 yr Hi,I was made to understand that (unsurprisingly) the fuel feed setup must be changed after an engine failure to prevent an imbalance or fuel starvation to 1 of the remaining 3 engines. What config is required?
September 10, 200619 yr Well that really depends on what fuel confiduration you are running when you have the eng failure. Are you using stab fuel, centre tank fuel, feeding from tanks 2 and 3 or are you tank to engine. There is no hard and fast rule. The best thing to do is open up the EICAS fuel synoptic display and have a look at what is needed to maintain balance. Reconfigure the pumps and crossfeed valves to feed fuel from where you want it to maintain reasonable equilibrium. Technically you are only required to do something when you get the fuel imbablance EICAS message however, depending on the circumstances, it would be deemed good airmanship to intervene before it got to that point.CheersSteve Cheers Steve Hall
