Turbulance, a known problem?`

Featured Replies

hello,Is this ->http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho..._id=29129&page=a known problem? Any solutions? p.s. I tried to reload my PMDG freighter enroute (select the same ac again) the problems disappeared, but I'm not shure if it has anything to to with that. The winds were strong, around 100kts on the nose. The aircraft fully loaded near max takeoff gw...cheers,tobi

The problem is usually one of rapid wind changes, velocity and/or direction. Wind smoothing is the solution, use the registered version of FSUIPC. Also, you can try forcing constant winds aloft if you are using ActiveSky. This problem is not unique to PMDG, it is the way weather is handled by FS.

hi Dan,Wind smoothing is not the problem. That works perfect!cheers, tobi

Tobi: Constant wind velocity is not the problem either. The airplane is flying throught the air mass totally unaware of the velocity of the air mass (constant velocity). In theory, it is possible to fly in a 400 kt headwind at 350 KTAS because the wind is moving over the wings at 350 kts. We agree that you would be flying backwards, as viewed from the ground, but the aircraft is flying through the air mass not across the ground. In fact Galieo was the first to observe that if you were in a cabin on a ship and had no outside reference, there is no way you could determine your speed across the water.

So what? Should that posting bring the solution?cheers, tobi
