March 30, 200719 yr Hi, How fast can a pilot exit a rwy via a high speed taxi way, taking into the consideration of aircraft limitation and pax comfort? 20kts? 30kts? and which one should a pilot uses, tiller or rudder?ThanksBen
March 30, 200719 yr Not being a a real expert I can only tell you some basic things. The ground handling is done via the tiller, the rudder is only used for corrections at higher speeds (t/o or landing phase). The taxi speed limitation is 20 kts, I don't think that you would turn the a/c at that speed.regards,Robp.s. there are lots of factors that have to be taken into consideration: a/c weight, brake temps and of course the pax comfort.
March 30, 200719 yr Ben50kts ground speed using the nose wheel steering through the rudder pedals until below 20kts then you use the tiller.CheersJon 787 captain. Previously 24 years on 747-400.Technical advisor on PMDG 747 legacy versions QOTS 1 , FS9 and Aerowinx PS1.
