  1. 18:30 uk time, it’s too hot to sit with the computer on waiting. I’m done for today, going to sit outside under a tree in the shade.
  2. It looks like those thunderstorms are approaching you now from the south. Jersey Airport is giving a PROB 40 TEMPO for modererate thunderstorms 18-24Z and a PROB 30 TEMPO for heavy thunderstorms for the same time period.
  3. They’re probably just cooling down with a cornetto before pressing go
  4. Yes it’s a bit hot for simming, both from a comfort and as you say a technical view. It should be cooling off over the weekend according to my phone.
  5. My house was built in 1896 when they knew a thing or two about building houses and thermodynamics. It’s south facing with natural stone walls about 50cm thick. It works like a big thermal battery absorbing all the heat during the day keeping the interior cool and lets the heat out at night. Stand on the patio at night after a hot day and you can feel the heat coming off the wall. I augment that process in extreme heat like this week by closing all windows and curtains during the day and then opening all the windows and doors at night once the outside temperature drops lower. There’s French doors at the back and a double door at the front so open those up in the evening and a cooling breeze comes through the house. I’d hate to think what it’s like in a uk new build houses at the moment
  6. Animated gifs tend to become quite annoying quickly so I’ve deleted it now, but imagine the Gorgon from Highlander delivering the infamous line “THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE” and. You’ll get the picture. Mind you probably no more annoying than the video of the Russian guy trying to sell me an aeroplane every time I visit here.
  7. On the 747 there is a slight natural resistance as the tail plane experiences a cushioning ground effect as it gets nearer the ground on rotation requiring you to smoothly pull through it. I don’t know if the 737 has similar aerodynamic characteristics or indeed if that’s simulated.
  8. Yes, I think biz jets are probably the new sweet spot, and if the hotstart challenger jet was on the platform I’d probably go with that
  9. Are we nearly there yet ? Slow down, you’re going too fast !, why have you come this way ? etc etc 😂
  10. Never involve a wife in decision making, it never ends well ! Even when my wife used to fly with me on the 747 in her official capacity as my cabin manager I found as little interaction as possible was the best way to go 🤣
  11. For longevity, depth and sense of ownership. If I could have only one , even though I don’t particularly fly it that often it would have to be the A2A Comanche.
  12. Me neither…but I’ll probably buy the bundle for fear of missing out😂 Also interested in seeing if I can feel between the 70 and 100. From what I read they have identical wings and control surfaces but the shorter length of the 70 makes is a better performer and handler than the 100.
  13. Yeah, that’s a cop out 😆 I think a lot of these add ons now are so good they’d support the use of just the host sim and a single add on, and you’d still be entertained .Like back in the old days where some sims came with just one aircraft, like the Lufthansa endorsed A320 simulator on the Commodore Amiga , or acrojet
  14. Bundle price, so is there an individual model option ? Apparently the F70 flies nicer than the F100 so I’d consider just buying the 70 and heading off to the sweet shop with the spare change !
  15. I checked the METARs last night at 11pm at was hotter in Birmingham EGBB at 27C than it was in the Caribbean
  16. I guess being a trijet that centre engine thrust would reduce the overall asymmetric effect of losing one of the side pods , interesting, not thought about that before.
  17. That’s a shame , but more time to savour the FSW analog panel I guess, it’s flying nice now but I’d prefer it without the TV screens! That A2A cockpit looks fantastic and I bet it will fly as good as it looks. I look forward to flying the FSW and A2A back to back and comparing the 2. Oh and the Falco? …real nice
  18. Just bought a portable aircon unit for my parents lounge this morning in anticipation , my dad is nearly 92 with numerous health issues and last time it was this hot earlier in the year he got really breathless. Anyway, my point is almost everywhere in the uk is out of stock of the bigger portable AC units.
  19. I went searching among my 100’s of flim discs for the ITVV British midland F100 video that came with the digital aviation F100 box set from the mid 2000’s. I thought I’d never find it but completely randomly I found it next to the TV, what it was doing there or how long it had been there I’ve no idea , but it must be a sign ! It’s quite good for learning the aircraft as I recall. I notice pilots were a lot younger in those days🙂 ITVVITVV Fokker 100 - Download - PALITVV Flightdeck PAL Download on the Fokker 100. Captain Ian Lawrie presents this flight deck documentary. Round trip East Midlands > NiceMaybe I’ll venture into the loft later to see if I can find the digital aviation F100 box with it’s comprehensive ( I presume) manual
  20. Now officially confirmed on the JF website as releasing this week… AND the manual is now available to download 👍
