FlightFX Hawker Beechcraft 800XP
Yes I watched that too, it does make it tempting, but it’s that avionics suite that I just don’t like. If it was like an earlier HS125 or RAF Dominie I’d be all over it. Many years ago I was on a short list for a job flying an HS125 to and around Russia so it’s an aircraft that has a special place in my aviation memories. ( the jet venture never happened though sadly)

FlightFX Citation X V2 Releases Today
I heard what I presume was one of the on the radio last week over NV with the controller saying, I’m just curious what speed are you flying? and the reply casually came back we’re doing Mach point 91 I felt a little inferior cruising along in my plastic airliner at .845, so I thought well at least on this machine I can order up a drink served by a pretty lady so I rang the galley and asked for a coke. Unfortunately a plump gentleman with a beard came into the flightdeck clutching 2 cans, not my night I thought.

Are the old flight sim packages collectors items now?
I’d like to think so, they certainly have great sentimental value to me. I recently purchased a boxed Commodore 64 disk version of SubLogic flight sim 2 complete with pristine manuals and paper charts. I can’t remember what I paid, maybe £30 or something, but it was just something I really wanted regardless of the price.

Got Friends Taylorcraft - any takers?
I’ve done plenty of slow orbits of the M25 by Range Rover

Got Friends Taylorcraft - any takers?
I couldn’t resist another quick flight…..absolutely gorgeous, an instant classic in my book, even better than I was hoping it would be.

Got Friends Taylorcraft - any takers?
Just for reference, I signed for the free trial only about 30 mins ago and got the 2024 version no problem. Waggle the aileron and the whole aircraft rocks, it’s very good !

Got Friends Taylorcraft - any takers?
Well, it’s got a free trial available so everyone can make their own decision. However from my perspective, a cracking little aircraft. This will instantly replace my CAS Piper Cub for that kind of flying , nothing wrong with that add on at all it’s just personally I don’t like Piper cubs. Just had a quick circuit and play around out of Netherthorpe ,not much time as I have flights scheduled in the Hawk this evening , and once it goes dark, a low level sortie Dambusters run the IFE Typhoon using night vision, Wow 😳 Brilliant instruments, brilliant flight modelling. It’ll spin properly, not a -pseudo spin spiral dive, a proper spin with airspeed locked at 40 mph and not increasing. I tried a dead stick landing which I almost got away with but stalled into a ( burning blue design ) tree and ended up upside down with doors and panels open flapping in the wind! Beautiful engine sounds too. I’ll go back and hit the purchase button once my trial expires tomorrow.

Got Friends Taylorcraft - any takers?
That would be my guess too 🙂 A man in your job needs to slow down relax and take it easy once in a while 😂

Yes, plus one. 👍 Great aircraft.

Got Friends Taylorcraft - any takers?
Probably Mr Burnham’s 20% cut plus a little USD to GBP commission.

Burning Blue Design Enhanced Global Vegetation
Density is increased, and uk woodland looks more natural from the air due to the density and colour. I notice a difference when taxying as the trees in the distance are a lot more varied in size and height compared to the uniform default offering. The difference is only subtle but makes a very pleasant upgrade, certainly worth the cost.

It costs less than this morning’s bacon sandwich and pint of tea at my favourite Peak District motorcycle cafe 😄🥪🫖It’s definitely better than default and will only get better with feedback and updates by the sounds of it

Fokker F27 vs Namc YS-11?
@Bunkie trim for 755 degrees in the climb and cruise, and 100% on approach 😄 It’s a shame as growing up I used to love the sound of Darts, it meant flying on a viscount down to the Channel Islands for a holiday and hours spent watching the aircraft from the rooftop terrace when I got there. Now after growing up and flying HS748s for a living for a few years I just associate the noise with being freezing cold and absolutely exhausted flying freight through the night😂 I was at the Avro heritage museum last weekend, they’ve got a HS748 cockpit section on display , wow it looked antiquated. An HS748 with an ATP follow on would surely be a great project for just flight

Burning Blue Design Enhanced Global Vegetation
Landed the Hawk at Scampton last night at dusk in VR and while taxying in I noticed the subtle differences in height and uniformity of the sycamore trees in the distance silhouetted against the darkening sky. These things are very subtle and are almost subconscious, but they make a major impact on the experience of immersion.

Fokker F27 vs Namc YS-11?
And engine trimming is an absolute necessity for flying RR dart turboprops , not just a nice to have.

Burning Blue Design Enhanced Global Vegetation
Just a quick flight, overall I noticed an improvement of the forest density and colour in the UK. Flying over my own neighbourhood in the Peak District , which is a real world general aviation scenic hotspot , and former military low level hotspot (when we had an airforce ), Im noticing some extra coniferous trees which should be sessile oak covering up rock faces. That issue only really affects me as I know the area and its trees intimately, on the whole the variations in height and density in forests alone seem to make the product worthwhile . I’ve yet to check out the grasses etc but suspect they’ll be a pleasant improvement. Overall it seems like another one of those pieces of flight simulation jewellery which I like adding , as their results are greater than the sum of their parts.

FlightFX Citation X V2 Releases Today
I just don’t like the avionics suite in this citation. That’s just a subjective observation about a feature of the real aircraft, nothing to with this add on, which I do own BTW. I prefer the sovereign personally.

707 "Heritage" Flight from Bellingham to Portland
I believe it’s a Bendix flight path deviation indicator. I bought an old 1968 hardback book from an aviation museum recently entitled “Airline instrument flying” so this is right up my alley
