  1. I’ve never seen that to be honest so don’t know what to suggest, it’s always been well behaved for me. Normally my take off and landing distance are only 20 meters so it doesn’t have time to go sideways. I hope you find the root cause as it’s a fun little machine.
  2. There’s a new Burning blue designs rendition of Netherthorpe Airfield just released, I flew out of there a bit in the distant past. I was planning on buying it this morning and taking the mini-max up, but this thread revival has made me think I’ll take the excellent Vixen up instead! Looking forward to the Taylorcraft release too, not a big fan of tail draggers generally but it looks to have a great vintage character.
  3. We used to position empty 747-400s between airports only 30 miles apart. We imposed a minimum fuel load of 24T to keep the forward fuel pumps covered in the initial climb out, the deck angle was over 20 degrees and we’d be approaching a height of 2,000ft passing the end of the runway!
  4. Thanks. Jut what I needed. Another manual to read 😆
  5. Yes, perhaps thinking about the blackbird version , I don’t know ?

  7. Thanks for the write up, I’ll be picking this new pack up shortly, I’ve not flown the T38 for a few months so will have to reacquaint myself but it’s one of my favourite add ons, they’ve done a nice job. I think there’s a few improvements in this new pack that will be back ported to the original A & C variants. I’ll be interested to see, having not flown the A for several updates, if they’ve sorted the engine N1 power settings, where the blackbird/microsoft version proved to give the more realistic N1 of the 2.
  8. Ah ok , the same then, thanks, it’s just when you said “quick”, I guess you have better internet than me 😂
  9. I’m possibly confused by their updater then, I have been deleting the existing version then downloading the new version at 3 or 4 GB each time. Is that what you do or does that “ additional files” button just give you a quick update? I couldn’t see that button doing anything.
  10. It looks like that the Analog panel will be released on their website /updater as a public beta first before releasing as a stable update elsewhere.
  11. Yes, and the sim also features “experimental “ gusty cross winds and turbulence 🙂
  12. Excellent! About 2 weeks out they reckon.
  13. In the days of P3D cottage industry style development worked ok and we were grateful for what we got. In this current, much more mainstream mass market slow development will just get steamrolled, there’s big money at play now. Even PMDG have been lucky that no one has poached the 747-400 in the intervening 6 years since MSFS reappeared.
  14. Yes the blue on the PFD almost looks textured like it’s behind tracing paper to me at a distance, it clears up if I move up close though. ( Varjo Aero)
  15. The term “ you snooze, you lose “ springs to mind.
  16. To celebrate America’s 250th birthday 2 shiny new variants have been released with a discount for existing owners at $19.99 full price $29.99 God bless America and best wishes to all American Avsim members 🥳
  17. Yes,I used to stand underneath the wing of the jumbo in P3D and watch in amazement as the flaps came down. In MSFS I’ll occasionally have a look around the outside of things in VR but not really enough that I’d feel the need to put my favourite livery on there.
  18. I’m glad that you receive free copies of aircraft as you obviously put a lot of time in and certainly deserve it. I no longer download liveries as I now fly exclusively in VR it’s very rare I’ll look at an external view so I never see the liveries. The exception might be a special case like I’ll sometimes get airline liveries for real aircraft I’ve flown for that airline etc , but most of the time I’m oblivious to how the aircraft looks from the outside.
  19. Pretty much the best TV series ever made. That Learjet is nice but it’s a real handful to fly circuits with.
  20. flybe BAe 146 aircraft landing at Birmingham Internationa...Download this stock image: flybe BAe 146 aircraft landing at Birmingham International Airport, West Midlands, England, UK - A8GDDX from Alamy's library of millions of high resolution stock photos, ill@UrgentSiesta 😔 I tried all sorts of flap and speedbrake combinations, I just couldn’t make it do this ☝️
  21. It’s also the only JF 146 that actually flies in a correct nose down negative pitch attitude on approach , the P3D and MSFS versions sadly fly the approach nose up like 737, which for me sadly means I just can’t use them. To me the nose down approach of the 146 was one of its defining features so I just can’t live with the inaccuracy, which is a shame as the rest of it is ok.
  22. Just flown a few test circuits the F70.. *With calm winds it’s absolutely solid and a joy to fly, no issues with speed control at all. * On autopilot disconnect there is a marked pitch up, most undesirable, especially in a RW aircraft equipped for LVOs and autoland, so that’s an issue that needs addressing. * I added a slight crosswind at 18 gusting 25, that’s nothing too taxing in the RW, AP & AT off, between gusts it was stable, however when the gusts hit I saw a loss of 50kts IAS on one of them, for the exercise I continued fighting it down to the ground. There was some nasty pitching and speed deviation. Needless to say that wasn’t realistic behaviour for those conditions. I want to just make it clear though I don’t blame the F70 or just flight for this behaviour at all, it’s without doubt the base sim. I say that with confidence as I’ve seen the exact same sort of behaviour with other swept wing add ons, namely the Cessna sovereign, while flying in real weather with a gusty 20kt quartering wind, I had a wing drop turning base and rolled inverted, losing the aircraft. I must admit I’m starting to get a little frustrated with the aerodynamics in the base sim to the point I’ll now only fly swept wing jets with the wind turned off.
  23. I think this is another example of the host sim not playing nicely with aircraft with swept wings in gusty conditions, especially ones like the F100 which has a slatless wing. I only flew it briefly this morning but in calm winds and found no issues with speed stability at all.
  24. I don’t know, but it may be intentional as Fokker’s official designation for it was F28 MK100. I read that recently somewhere. ( no it wasn’t in the post above which was posted simultaneously 😂)
