July 10, 200718 yr Thought I'd ask around this knowledgeable forum about PCN/ACN's. I've been trying to find some info about these, but I'm not coming up with a lot at the mo, can anyone explain or point me in the right direction?I have found a key to the letters for PCN's, but what is/are the numbers preceeding them? Many thanks :D Alaister Kay
July 11, 200718 yr hi there. Have to admit I never heard these terms so did a little research and came up with this.To provide for safe aircraft operations and to prevent structural damage to the pavement, aircraft loads should not exceed the load carrying capacity of the pavement. Most commercial aircraft have been assigned ICAO "Aircraft Classification Numbers (ACN's)" which express the relative structural loading effect of the aircraft on a pavement. Aircraft have also been assigned "Aircraft Load Ratings (ALR's)" for use in Canada. By comparing aircraft ACN's/ALR's to the PCN's/PLR's found on the Pavement Load Rating charts, the ability of a pavement to safely support an aircraft can easily be determined. The full explanation is herehttp://www.tc.gc.ca/CivilAviation/Internat...t/data/menu.htmhope this is of some helpbest regardsJohn Calleja John Calleja
